The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, intervened in the Tussle Between The President Of The Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote And The Supervising Agencies.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, has intervened in the tussle between the President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote and the supervising agencies in the oil and gas industry over issues surrounding the Dangote Refinery.

On Monday in Abuja, Lokpobiri met with Dangote and the heads of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL).

This followed accusations and counter accusations by Dangote and the agencies over alleged plans to sabotage the refinery by denying it of feed stock for production.
Dangote had alleged that the International Oil Companies (IOCs) in Nigeria were actively trying to undermine the Dangote Oil Refinery and Petrochemicals.

He had claimed that the IOCs were intentionally obstructing the refinery’s efforts towards purchasing local crude by inflating premium prices above market rates, compelling the refinery to import crude from distant countries like the United States, leading to significantly higher costs.

President Paul Kagame Wins Fourth Term with Overwhelming Majority

Kigali, Rwanda – President Paul Kagame has secured a fourth term in office, winning a decisive 99 percent of the total vote cast, according to official results.

Kagame, who has been in power since 2000, continues to enjoy widespread support across the nation. The overwhelming victory highlights his stronghold on Rwandan politics and the approval of his governance among the populace.

The election, closely monitored by international observers, saw a high voter turnout, reflecting the citizens' engagement in the democratic process. Despite concerns raised by opposition groups and human rights organizations about the fairness of the electoral process, Kagame’s administration maintains that the election was conducted transparently and fairly.

The results have been met with both celebration and criticism. Supporters of Kagame see this victory as a mandate for continued economic growth and stability, while critics argue that the political environment lacks sufficient space for opposition.

As Kagame embarks on his new term, the focus will be on how his administration addresses the challenges ahead, including economic development, regional stability, and the ongoing calls for political reforms.
