🎬✨ Meet Werner Vivier , South African-Swiss writer & director based in London. His short films have graced various Oscar & BAFTA qualifying festivals, winning multiple awards. 🌟🏆

Highlights of his achievements include:

🥇🥇 Two Golds at the Kinsale Shark Awards ()
🏅 A British Short Film Award
🏆 Nominations for two Cannes Young Director Awards () and a 1.4 award ( )
Last year, Werner’s script ‘Liana’ was shortlisted at the BAFTA ( ) Rocliffe New Writing Competition. 📜✨ Since then, his work has earned him:

Nomination for ‘New Director of The Year’ by Shots ( )
‘Best New Talent’ at Ciclope ( )
Now, his third short film ‘Fine Dining’ is making waves on the festival circuit. 🍽🎞

Synopsis:
‘Fatima and Luke’s date risks taking a turn for the worse when a debate over what kinds of cuisines should be considered ‘fine dining’ arises.’

🎬✨ CHECK IT. Our very own, Laura Basil’s recent documentary ‘Tether’ is currently touring the film festival circuits! 🌍📽️

‘Tether’ is a film about UK professional skateboarder Lois Pendlebury and her unplanned transition to shepherding. 🛹🐑 ‘Tether’ won the Grand Jury Prize at the Skate and Surf Film Festival Milano! 🏆🇮🇹

Laura Basil Duncan is an award-winning filmmaker focusing on radical culture, action sports, and impactful narratives. Her debut short documentary ‘Rebirth’ about an adaptive surfer’s journey to restart won the Impactful Story Award and Audience Award at the Portuguese Surf Film Festival, and screened across the globe, including The Ocean Film Festival World Tour, London Surf, and Kendal Mountain Film Festivals. 🌊🏄‍♀️🎥

Words from Laura: “‘Tether’ is a deeply human story that illustrates the raw realities vs. expectations in life. When everything is ripped out from beneath you, the journey of trusting in life’s process to adapt and move forward.

I feel like Lois’ journey is about honoring the flow state. By going with what feels good in the present and throwing away the concept of mapping out your life. Exploring an unconventional path away from societal norms, and learning what it means to live.” 🌿💫

Oh, and Laura is also a badass surfer and skater herself. 🏄‍♀️🛹 Super proud to have her as part of the AJCollective Fam! 💖👊

Hello. A slow start to posting in 2024 but kicking off with a wonderful music video from directed by Joey Frank featuring

Via MGMT’s ig, a note from Inga:

“When I was first approached by Joey to do this project, it was the parallelism in his vision that first drew me in. We listened to ‘Nothing To Declare’ as he took me through the concept of the video and I was met with the juxtaposition of beauty and melancholy. Having grown up with no arms, I have been watched my whole life. In some respects, the Venus de Milo has always felt analogous to my life, and specifically to the character I portray in this film. She’s adored, respected, and almost constantly surrounded by people, and yet she stands alone and her past is unknown. There have always been questions surrounding her arms and she has never had to answer or prove her worth. From my perspective, she has nothing to declare. Playing this character that is different, and not just because she doesn’t have arms, but by the way she handles the difference and still feeds on new curiosity was a really beautiful experience.”
