Is this South Korea's most glamorous granny? Choi Soon-hwa is 81 years old and has taken part in Miss Universe South Korea.

This week, she took to the stage with women a quarter of her age hoping to make it to the finals in Mexico later this year.

A former hospital worker, Ms Choi became a model at the age of 72 after a patient suggested it.

The comment gave her confidence, and she took the leap, eventually becoming
a familiar face in South Korea. But launching a global career was more difficult.

When the Miss Universe beauty pageant relaxed its age restrictions, Ms Choi decided this was her chance. She’s now the oldest contestant to take part.

In the end, Ms Choi wasn’t picked to go to Mexico. The Miss Universe South Korea crown went to Han Ariel, 22. But Ms Choi won the title of "Best Dressed", delighting her fans at home.

"My grandchildren cheer me on, saying: 'Our grandma is so cool, pretty, beautiful,
and the best!'"

Hezbollah said Saturday its fighters were confronting Israeli troops in Lebanon's southern border region, where the Israeli military said it struck militants from the Iran-backed movement at a mosque.

Rapidly escalating violence in recent days saw intense Israeli strikes on Hezbollah strongholds across Lebanon as ground troops conducted raids near the border, transforming nearly a year of cross-border exchanges into full-blown war.

In the first reported Israeli airstrike on the northern Tripoli region in the current flare-up, Palestinian militant group Hamas said "Zionist bombardment" of the Beddawi refugee camp killed a commander, Saeed Attallah Ali, as well as his wife and two daughters on Saturday.

The escalation, which this week included Iran's second-ever missile attack on Israel, intensifying Hezbollah rocket fire and strikes claimed by Iran allies from as far away as Yemen, comes just days before the first anniversary of Hamas' October 7 attack.

The Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, H.E. Simon Ober Mawut, on Friday, Chaired the Fourth Extraordinary Council of Ministers Meeting at the Secretariat General in Aweil.

During the session, the State Minister of Finance, Hon. Lual Bolo, presented a proposed ceiling of NBGS budget for the fiscal year 2024/2025 at the tune of SSP -Twenty Six Billion, Seven Hundred and Nineteen Million, Eight Hundred and Twenty Four Thousand (260,719,824,000) as the draft budget for all the State Ministries and Counties except the State Ministry of General Education. The Council directed the state ministries to draft their budget under the above ceiling to come up with the final state budget.

The council also reviewed a memo from the State Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Garang Chan Atak, addressing measures to regulate logging in the state. The council resolved to cancel an earlier ministerial order banning logging. However, after deliberations, the council passed new guidelines on logging and issuance of licenses.

Additionally, the State Minister of Health, Hon. Dr. Ring Ring Lual also presented a memo regarding the relief and appointment of a new Director General at the ministry. After deliberations and vetting of the three candidates presented, the council approved William Deng Lual as the new Director General of the State Ministry of Health.

Time for compassionate reassignment for aging Bilpam Road traffic officer?

I do not know how the standard operation protocols work at the South Sudan traffic police department but if you’ve been to Bilpam Road recently, you must’ve seen the old man in the picture below directing car traffic at the Eden Residential area junction. Since the first day I got to see this old man, he is always dressed in full traffic police uniform, clearly displaying his rank (Captain) with a touch of a small pistol to emphasize his professional etiquette.

For clarity, I have never seen him use that small pistol or heard anyone claims he used it in anyway. I even doubt whether that was his initial intention to begin with. If you come across this juluk some day, you’ll notice that the old man does not only talk to motorists in a professional manner, contrary to what we see from other traffic police officers on the road, but his approach reflects that of a father who wants to see his kids do good in whatever they do. He is too friendly above all

But clearly, one thing stands out! This old man is in a very advanced age. From his walking style, his physique and the way he talks, you can tell that this old man has little or no energy left of him. He looks too exhausted for his rank and his job or his current department. I don’t know whether he chose to do this for his own reasons but even if that was true, there are other tasks he can be assigned to considering his age if at all he can not go home with all his privileges

In this picture, you can see the old man walking with a pedestrian (kid). I don’t know what they were upto but the old man is using a stick to support his balance. He is a true soldier of his purpose but I think there is a better way the traffic police department can help this old man than assigning him the task of standing on the road. He is even at risk of reckless motorists on the road but his mobility is clearly compromised by old age as can be seen in the picture. I know authorities know this old man is there doing his job but I trust in the power of social media that’s why I brought it to y’all. This old man needs a new assignment if at all he cannot be given all his privileges and retired to go and rest!

: Response to the so called Classified Leaked Post in Sixty 4 Tribe Press Social Media Page Titled:
“PLOT TO REPLACE MARIAL DONGRIN HATCHED AS ECONOMIC CARTELS RETURNS”

This article is in response to the yesterday’s post titled # “Plot to Replace Marial Dongrin Hatched as Economic Cartels Returns”; on Wednesday 02nd – October – 2024 at around 03:00 PM. The post exclusively attacked individuals perceived to be so powerful in the government in lobbies of appointments and dismissal of constitutional post holders. It predominantly describes them to be involved in the lobby to remove the Minister of Finance and Planning Hon. Dr. Marial Dongrin to replace him with a renowned politician of their preference from Upper Nile State and in-balance the political equation of representation. It is perceived to eventually affect Hon. Dr. Chol Deng position as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum which will subsequently attributing to his removal from the Ministry of Petroleum and be replaced with someone of their political interest.

Regrettably, Sixty 4 Tribes Press as a social media page does not comply with the laws regulating social media outlets. This media page must be guided through South Sudan Media Authority to cease in misinformation and disinformation of the public domain with information that doesn’t contain verified source because sharing of an un-verified source information attributes to cyber-security crimes specially when it involves an element of insult, defamation, misinformation and disinformation. The page should concentrate on its slated programs of feeding the public with correct and verified information. It has been realized as of recent that the page has involved in spreading destructive information in the society despite the presence and enforcement of cyber-security crimes court launched few months ago.

The page in several occasions have committed crimes that are punishable by law. In the last few years, it was recorded that they have published destructive information against many government and non-government officials causing defamation and tarnishing people’s reputation which ended by letters of apologies.

However, yesterday’s post on Sixty 4 Tribes social media page has been crammed with false and unfounded information which some hired propagandists and opportunists have tried as much as possible to twist to their advantage against the personality and reputation of the duo perceived and described in the post as renowned businessman turned politician, Hon. Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel Kuol and a powerful military general who served as Petroleum Security Director, Maj. Gen. Manasa Machar Bol Yai. The duo never had any intention to lobby for the replacement of neither Hon. Dr. Marial Dongrin nor Hon. Dr. Chol Deng as quoted in the post. It’s a disruption by propagandists who survive on spreading false and unfounded information to create confusion within the institutions and the general public.

Hon. Dr. Benjamin Bol and Maj. Gen. Manasa Machar have never been involved in tribal and regional politics of traditional representations. They are renowned national personalities with high level of integrity and impartiality. The political history of Hon. Dr. Benjamin Bol and the military experience of Maj. Gen. Manasa Machar has never involved directly or indirectly in the traditional political representation of tribes and communities. Those behind Sixty 4 Tribes social media page must also understand that the appointing authority is solely the President of the Republic. In advance political modern societies including guiding laws of the government of South Sudan; merits and qualifications are mostly considered unlike the alleged geographical representation spearheaded by the duo.
In developed countries, it's common for two or more related individuals to hold significant constitutional positions with distinct responsibilities as long as they are qualified and experienced for their roles.

For instance, Hon. Nhial Deng, Hon. Awut Deng, Hon. Mayik Ayii and Lt. Gen. Akol once served at the same time in the government of South Sudan. Hon. Simon Majok and Hon. Nadia Arop are serving in the same government. Hon. Chol Thon Balok and Hon. Awow Daniel once served in the same time. In this regard, the appointment of a Minister of Finance and Planning or any other ministerial position from Upper Nile State doesn’t affect the presence of

Hon. Dr. Chol Deng in the government. Its only someone’s performance that dictates your presence or dismissal. Dr. Chol Deng was once appointed twice as the Managing Director of Nilepet and again appointed as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Petroleum but it wasn’t neither on tribal, geographical representation nor merit but through lobby and luck. In actual sense it’s not his field of expertise to be as an Undersecretary due to the fact that he doesn’t have experience, skills and knowledge in the field of petroleum.

The public is aware that the sole beneficiary of the article posted in Sixty 4 Press media page is Hon. Dr. Chol Deng whereby he should be advice to cease from the proxy war through sponsored social media platforms.

The Ministry of Interior on Friday, 04/10/2024, inaugurated a Special Emergency Court for the Regular Forces in Juba.

It was reportedly establish in 2015 by a special order from chief Justice with request from the Ministry of Interior but since then has not been operationalize.

The panel being led by Major General Siddiq Ismail is comprised of high-ranking officers from various branches of the security organs.

They include Brigadier General Thomas Tut, Colonels Andrew Ayodi Waleed Idris and Major Emmanuel Benjamin.

President Kiir Swears In New Director General Of ISB, Directs For Commitment To National Security

President Salva Kiir Mayardit has sworn in Akec Tong Aleu as the new Director General of the Internal Security Bureau of the National Security Service.

The President expressed his full support for the new Director General, directing him to meet the challenges ahead with determination.

Aleu succeeds General Akol Koor Kuc, who has transitioned to the role of Governor of Warrap State, as part of the government’s strategy to strengthen governance at both national and state levels.
