It's the start of #RoadSafetyWeek on Monday! 🚗
Did you know that there are now 395,000 battery-powered electric cars registered in the UK alone... Great news for the environment!
However, electric vehicles are much quieter than their fossil fuel powered counterparts. That's why a new Green Cross Car Code has been created by ZenAuto and Brake, the road safety charity to help your kids safely cross our busy streets...
To find out more, and to test their road safety knowledge, visit zen.auto/gccc.
Check out this adorable one-horned #rhino calf born at Chester Zoo recently! 🦏
The little cutie may be small now, but she’ll eventually grow to a hefty 1.7 tonnes!
Greater one-horned rhinos were once found roaming across the entire northern part of the Indian subcontinent. However, because of poaching and habitat loss, there are sadly only around 3000 left in the wild, and they can now only be found in a small area in #India 🇮🇳 and #Nepal🇳🇵
The good news is that the zoo’s conservationists are working with the Wildlife Trust of India to protect these amazing animals. And in recent years #conservation work has seen their numbers grow from a low of just 200. Wow!
Today is World Wombat Day!
To celebrate, check out this video of a critically endangered northern hairy-nosed wombat emerging tentatively from its burrow. What a sweetheart! 😍
The footage from the Richard Underwood Nature Refuge in Queensland, Australia is the first time one has been captured in high resolution!
They are the largest of all #wombat species. However, they are also the rarest, and sadly only around 300 are left in the world. This means it’s nearly impossible to film them in the wild.
