Addicted to my Phone 🚨
I had the absolute honour of interviewing and sharing the stage with the incredible Dr. Shefali Tsabary at the Global Woman Summit last year. In our conversation backstage, we touched base on her powerful insights from “The Conscious Parent”, and seeing this video brought it all back.
Let’s be honest — phone addiction is REAL. It’s not just something affecting our kids; it’s happening to us too. Phones have become one of the most amazing tools for connection, but at what cost?
For children, especially from younger ages to teens, it’s a world that can easily consume them.
📱 It impacts:
❌ Sleep patterns
❌ Confidence
❌ Mood & behaviour
If you’ve noticed this cycle playing out at home, you’re not alone. The good news? Change is possible.
That’s why I’m so excited for our Parent Strengthening Workshop this March! 💪 This is a space where parents come together to learn how to set boundaries, instill strong family values, and — most importantly — swap endless phone scrolling for meaningful family time.

Raising Thinkers 🧠👏
I came across a video of a dad guiding his child to solve a problem on their own.
He didn’t give them the answer — instead, he watched as the child navigated the issue, without stepping in to provide a solution.
It’s a simple yet effective way to encourage confidence, and a wonderful reminder that our role as parents isn’t to remove every obstacle, but to help our children learn how to climb over them. 🚀
It’s tempting to jump in and ‘fix’ things (because, let’s be honest, it’s faster and easier), but every time we do, we miss a chance to build a bit of independence.
When kids figure things out for themselves — no matter how small — they experience that priceless “I did it!” moment. That’s where self-belief grows. 🌱
If you’re looking for ways to encourage this kind of confidence in your children, join us for our Parent Strengthening Workshop in March 2025.
You’ll leave with practical strategies to help your child develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and resilience — skills they’ll carry for life.

The Power of Honesty 🗣️
It’s easy to scroll through social media and see only the highlight reel of people’s lives - the success, abundance, happiness, and wealth.
But beneath the surface lies a whole iceberg of experiences, struggles, and challenges. The truth is…we are terrified of failure nowadays.
We only choose to see the good part and don’t take into account all the mishaps and missteps. 😓
For many, we are ashamed of being human and have become so focused on instant gratification.
This is a gentle reminder not to forget that in order to reach your destination, you have to go through many places first.
Many of which are uncomfortable, unforgiving and unavoidable, but thanks to these places - we are the person we are today. 🙏
So let’s take a moment to be honest with ourselves, to acknowledge and appreciate the journey that has led us to this point.

Stop Holding Yourself Back
Ever looked at yourself in the mirror and felt like you’re your own worst enemy?
Self-sabotage is a real thing. You start to filter in those negative thought patterns that dictate much of your daily life.
Here are a few common signs of self-sabotage:
🚫 Procrastination
🚫 Negative self-talk
🚫 Overthinking decisions
🚫 Avoiding challenges
In this case, I believe SELF-AWARENESS is the first step to break free.
Identify Triggers: Take a moment to think about what sets off those self-sabotaging behaviors. What thoughts or situations bring them on for you?
Practice Self-Compassion: Seriously, treat yourself with the same love and kindness you would give to your best friend. You deserve that kindness!
Set Small Goals: Celebrate each win, no matter how small! 🎉
Seek Support: Don’t be afraid to lean on friends, family, or a coach. We all need a little help sometimes, and you’re not alone in this journey
It’s time to step into your power and rewrite your story! 💪

Redefining your GRIT
As the next generation walks through the gates of college, I can’t help but think of the ones who couldn’t—our parents, grandparents, and first-generation dreamers who gave everything to make this moment possible. ❤️
They worked tirelessly, often sacrificing their own dreams so that we could dream bigger. 🌟 Whether it was taking on extra shifts, putting their needs second, or navigating a new country with nothing but hope, their love was their fuel—and we are their legacy. 🌱
To those heading to college: know that this opportunity is more than just lectures and late-night studying. It’s the culmination of sacrifices, love, and grit. 🛤️ Every step you take forward is a thank you to those who made it possible.
Lesson: Never forget where you came from, and always honor the sacrifices made for you by striving for greatness. 🙏💪
To the parents: Thank you. Thank you for dreaming for us before we knew how to dream for ourselves. 💕
No Excuses! Your Mindset is Your Power 💪
It’s easy to make excuses.
❌“I don’t have enough time”
❌“What if I fail?”
❌“I don’t know how”
We excuse ourselves for many reasons, but the most common are fear of failure, and fear of disappointment.
Whenever you’re having thoughts of excusing yourself, remember this:
You’re NOT Perfect: You don’t have to be flawless, just keep moving forward. Did you skip the gym today? That’s okay—just make time for a walk or stretch at home instead. Small actions keep momentum alive!
Think POSITIVE: If you tell yourself you “can’t,” you’ve already created a barrier. Shift to “I’ll try” or “I’m learning”. Next time you hesitate, remember to be positive.
Remember, the journey isn’t about how fast you get there; it’s about the consistent steps you take, no matter how small. Keep going—no excuses! 💥

Overwhelmed, But Not Broken
How many of us are guilty of trying to juggle it all? 🙋♀️ Work, family, relationships, self-care, and somewhere in between, we lose ourselves in the chaos.
Burnout may be…
- Exhaustion, all the time.
- Never wanting to do anything “fun” or exciting
- Feeling empty with waves of sadness
Does that sound familiar?
Burnout creeps in when we push ourselves to be everywhere at once, and the effects are real - and you don’t often find yourself working on it.
But here’s the good news—you are not broken, just overwhelmed.
1️⃣ Set Boundaries: It’s OK to say no! Instead of taking on more than you can carry, handle your day in bite sizes.
2️⃣ Practice Mindfulness: Slow down, breathe, and take a moment to be present. Spend 5 minutes in the morning journaling or meditating before the rush of the day.
3️⃣ Self-Care is Not Selfish: You cannot pour from an empty cup. Block out “me time” just as you would a work meeting—non-negotiable.
Remember, it’s OK to feel overwhelmed sometimes. Just don’t let it break you.

Leading with Purpose
As leaders, it’s easy to feel the weight of trying to change the entire organisation. But the most powerful and lasting change begins within your own team. 💪✨
🔑 “Focus on what you can do for your teams. Every manager has the potential to lead their team to be better.” – Simon Sinek
The culture we create today, shapes the future of our organisation.
When every leader embraces this mindset, the ripple effect can transform the entire organisation. 🌊
🤝 Lead with empathy
💡 Inspire trust
🌱 Cultivate growth
Your team is your greatest asset—nurture it!

A Call for Connection 📱
It’s hard to believe that the iPhone was introduced over 17 years ago in 2007. While it revolutionised the way we communicate, research shows it also marked the beginning of a troubling trend: a sharp increase in teen depression. 📉
Teens were texting so much that they lost that vital face-to-face interaction, and this directly affects their relationships with friends and family.
Fast forward to today, you might feel similar patterns in your household:
❌Detachment
❌Constant arguing and conflicts
❌Lack of boundaries
When I attended an event hosted by Mo Gawdat, he observed that by simply picking up your phone, you can amplify your emotions.
Feeling bored? You might end up more bored by comparing your life to others’. Feeling sad? Your sadness might deepen as you see others seemingly living their best lives.
Building stronger connections with your family and yourself, try setting aside dedicated phone-free times each day. Do away with the the instant gratification.
It’s important to prioritise communicating, interacting and building meaningful bonds in your home.

🧠 What is My Anxiety Causing Me to Do?
As a parent, have you ever asked yourself:
❓ “Why is my child not cooperating with me?”
❓”Why are they behaving badly or having an attitude?”
❓”Why do they seem so distant and unresponsive?”
I find that the answer is often looking at yourself in the mirror. According to Unicef, in the U.K a significant 59% of parents say they are struggling with their mental health.
The more anxious we are as parents, the higher the stress levels at home. This anxiety seeps into every aspect of our lives, controlling and affecting everything we do.
What we may not realise is that anxious parents often create anxious kids. Sometimes, it’s crucial to take a step back and recognize how our anxiety is impacting our family dynamics.
One of the most successful takeaways from our Savvi Families Workshops is: COMMUNICATION.
Finding effective communication channels can help our family members understand the stress we experience. Instead of being seen as projecting or controlling, we can become more understanding, empathetic, and vulnerable.
Join our Savvi Family Webinar this September to learn more about how to reduce your stress and connect with your children. 🌟
