TV Freelancer Networking Event
It was such a genuine pleasure to host our freelancer networking event at The Film and TV Charity HQ last night in association with FTVC & Bectu.
Despite the state of the industry right now it was inspirational to witness such positivity, support & camaraderie amongst all the attendees. A huge thanks to Marcus Ryder, CEO from The Film & TV Charity for his opening speech and the wonderful representatives from Bectu - James Taylor Liz Biggs & Arun Devasia. Big thanks also to Bethan Davies Wykes, Mike Hird & Louise Benson at FTVC for providing the space and for all their support.

Thank you to everyone who helped us trial a new multi session mixer event last Thursday. It was a brilliant evening where we were able to host an open house discussion about how best we can encourage companies to respond to applicants, we provided regional break out rooms for networking opportunities and a informative webinar on how you can manage your well-being at this time! My challenge for you is to request 5 testimonials from people you have worked with previously to publish on your TM profile. You can request testimonials from people you have previously worked with directly from your TM account (just head to EDIT PROFILE) so lets try it out.
If you’ve sent off that millionth CV and want to do something proactive while you wait to hear back, getting a testimonial up on your TM profile is a great way to get your profile looking 💯, add advocacy to your CV and get you networking.
Also, it will hopefully give you a boost knowing that other people think you are fantastic at what you do (because, well, it’s the truth!) and is an easy way to remind people you are here!
Basic users can publish one testimonial to their profile, Pro users can publish unlimited testimonials - get requesting, and see what comes back. Comment below when you’ve done it or head on over to the hub and let me know how you’ve got on over there too....good luck!

Using testimonials on your profile is a powerful way of adding advocacy to your CV and affirming your credibility and trust as an employee.
As a basic TM member, you can post one testimonial - but did you know that if you are a TM Pro member, you can add unlimited testimonials to your TM profile page?
As your testimonials can be seen by anyone who views your profile, adding them to your page makes your profile even stronger to potential employers.

Have you checked out our networking opportunities on the events page on our site? If you're still finding the industry is quiet, check out what networking events and webinars we are holding and get yourself registered. And remember, you can get networking and connecting on the site with the rest of the TM community by following the steps below now...
👍 Follow a company's network. Just search for the company you want to connect with and 'follow' them. You will then receive their updates in your feed and they will see yours too.
🔗 Connect with other freelancers by adding other TM users to your network. Check out your 'freelancer suggestions' on your dashboard and search and add freelancers from the TM People page.
👥 Share your TM profile URL when looking for work, post your news and achievements on the TM Hub and tag in your fellow colleagues using the '@' button, first name / second name so that you can share the love with past and present freelancers you have worked with.
