If you don’t and your health deteriorates who is going to run your business for you???!!!

Here are five ideas to get you thinking about your own Well-being.

1 - Establish a Routine:
Create a daily schedule that enables you to balance work, exercise, meals, and relaxation. Consistency is key! 🕒✨

2 - Prioritise Sleep:
You should aim for around 7-8 hours of quality sleep each night. Good rest = better performance. 🛌💤

3 - Regular Exercise:
Incorporate physical activity to reduce stress and boost energy. Find what you love, be it running, yoga, or going to the gym etc. Then maybe find someone else who has a common passion and support each other! 🏃‍♂️🧘‍♀️💪

4 - Mindfulness and Meditation:
It will only take a few minutes each day to meditate or practice mindfulness and you can easily find and schedule a REGULAR slot in your diary to do this. Even just sitting at your desk!! It can be a game-changer for reducing stress and increasing focus. 🧘‍♂️🌿

5 - Delegate and Seek Support:

How do you say "THANK YOU"?

More importantly, do you even actually say thank you to your valued clients while you are still working with them and they are investing in you?

Here are a few ideas to hopefully make you think, plan and TAKE ACTION!

- It could just be a simple "Thank You" card in the post
- Make a short phone call to tell them, "You know it's been xx months since you decided to invest in ....... Just wanted to say thank you and that we really do value serving you and your team".....
- The classic - Invite them for lunch out to their favourite restaurant
- Send them a voucher to their favourite retailer for something you know they are passionate about
- Send them a gift related to a hobby or interest that you know they enjoy. something they will value but not necessarily due to the cost, but that you thought about them!

I recently remembered a blog I had read some time back from Ivan Misner, founder of BNI - The World's Leading Referral Organization about Frogs and Relationships in business, which had resonated with me.

He shared a conversation he had with a fellow Business Owner and then UK Franchise owner of The Referral Institute, Sarah Owen. They talked about, how many people want to know how to discern whether a potential referral source is a good match, and what they can do to increase the likelihood that their time and efforts are being invested in relationships that will harvest a positive return.

Sarah used the following analogy which also stuck with me.
“When we are looking for a good relationship in life, we sometimes need to kiss some frogs to find our prince. People are searching for a way to avoid those slimy, slippery, drawn-out kisses, which can be prolonged over months–sometimes years–only to discover that the frog never turns into a handsome prince.”

So how do people avoid those empty, disappointing referral relationships that turn out to be slimy frogs instead of princes?

It's all about trying to qualify a potential referral source relationship SOONER rather than later by asking the right questions at the right time!

Would you be happy to be on the substitute bench?

So with the Euros 2024 reaching the knockout stages, I thought of how the game relates to running your business. Read to the end to find out.

So, is it ok not to win every quotation for work you submit?

I believe it’s a yes, as it still has its benefits. Why?

It still gives you the opportunity for potential future work as you have started building a RELATIONSHIP with someone which may come to fruition in the future. However, it all depends on how you approach and follow up.

Here's how you could still gain:

- First thank the still prospective new client, for giving you the opportunity to quote
- Ask for feedback on why they didn't choose your solution. Good learning to use with other quotes too
- Ask if they would consider you for future solutions for their business, that match your offering. This will also make you feel better.
- Agree to stay connected and set a time to meet again, in around 3 months to update each other. This keeps the door ajar 😉
- Finally, the BIG ONE, and link to football. Ask if they would be happy to have you as their No.2 supplier of choice, should their current provider let them down or be unable to solution their problem.

You will be their RESERVE. their SUPER SUB, on the bench, warmed up, ready to run onto the pitch with an understanding of their strategy and requirements to win. This is the WINNING MOVE!

Do you agree this approach would be better than not having a second chance at all?

I believe so. Many business owners often just give up at the "thank you, but no thank you" stage and are not prepared to be on the sidelines waiting for a change in tactics or possible injury to another player on the existing pitch.

So it's Superman Day, but what is your "SUPER POWER"? (Man or Woman)

I was recently asked this question by a fellow professional coach and it made me think. Not really sure I have a super power or do I? What is it that my clients invest in me for?

It reminded me that earlier in the year I had asked my clients some questions about me: how they benefit from investing in me as their Executive Coach or Mentor. WOW, what a response I had!!

The words they used blew me away and made me very humble and honoured to have such wonderful people around me. Whilst, I'm still not sure I have one super power, it seems like a make a difference to people's lives. The common theme seemed to be based around "PEOPLE" and "INSPIRATION" with both passion and the ability to connect my community with the right people they want to meet or work with in their business.

So what's my super power? I still need to work on that, so watch this space!

As we cycle, we aim to balance and move forward without falling. Balancing your finances, resources, and efforts in the business is crucial to maintain steady growth and avoid accidents on the way.

2. Pedal Consistently:
Consistent effort, innovation, and improvement are necessary pedals to keep the business thriving. Every push, no matter how small, adds up to significant progress over time.

3. Navigate Obstacles:

Do you network or do you network with a PURPOSE?

Let’s explore the 5Ws of Networking that will help you to Network with purpose.

1. Why – Why are you attending a particular networking meeting? To make new connections, to meet people you already know but have not been in touch or to meet someone in particular. List down your reasons for attending the event and now you can plan what you need to do prior to arriving.

2. What – What are your expectations from the event? Identify your goal – Is it self-promotion, work opportunities, etc and what outcome are you looking for? This way you will be able to measure how successful you have been!

3. Where – Is it online or in person? If the in-person event is far off, is it worth travelling all the way or even if it is nearby, is it still worth your time? remember it's not only the length of the meeting but all the travel time too!

4. When – Time is precious, isn’t it? or let's just say, " Time is Money"! You need to make sure you get the right return on your investment. Don’t just attend an event because you have a free slot in your calendar. Maybe you can invest that time in something more productive, like developing a skill, reading or just some ME TIME!

5. Who – Who are you? Have you defined your targeted message to make the other person intrigued about you? If you are aiming to meet someone in particular, have you worked on your specific strategy to achieve it?

6. How – Do your homework before and after the event. If possible, ask the host about the list of attendees and research about the event and the attendees. Make notes for future reference, make sure to fulfil any commitment that you may have made during the event to a specific person, identify the set of people you would want to follow up with and make sure you do so!

3. LinkedIn
To help you find the right people to connect with, and ways to spark up a conversation, LinkedIn is rolling out a new two-tab experience under the Network Tab.

The CATCH UP tab is focused on uncovering reasons to catch up with your network! Sometimes the best way to start networking is a simple hello to either re-engage or keep the conversation going.

4. TikTok
To be eligible for the new Creator Rewards Program, creators must be at least 18 years old, have at least 10K followers with a minimum of 100K views in the last 30 days & have a personal account in good standing.

The Creator Rewards Program will favour high-quality, original content that is over a minute long, focused on four core metrics: originality, play duration, search value and audience engagement.

How do you support your customers, clients, patients, followers, members…..

Do you have a customer service charter?

In my opinion customer service or support is what helps you retain your customers and make them want to come back for more. More of the experience they have enjoyed while engaging with you and your brand.

Regular Communication with your clients and community is also a key part of looking after them and your business. It's an opportunity to ask their opinion and feedback on your products and services and checking in to ensure all is ok with whatever they may have bought from you.

Next important point is to ensure that ALL your staff understand their role in serving your customers, and the expectations and actually deliver the service you set out in your charter, which should be published widely in-store, online, in receptions ......

These are just a few thoughts. What would be one additional way you serve your customers well, so they want to stay and introduce you to their network too?
