Yes, Return to Office Mandates Will Increase Employee Attrition
It's been interesting to hear from people how their companies have begun revisiting their flexible, hybrid work policies as the pandemic becomes more of a distant memory, even though we just emerged from it two years ago. Some companies are clinging to in-office mandates while others are embracing more modern, hybrid approaches shown to boost productivity.
While some industries and roles simply aren't conducive to remote work, I personally think that companies that don't keep up with more modern ways of working will see increased rates of attrition in the years ahead. Your career should ideally empower both a rewarding professional life and a fulfilling personal life, and I'd encourage everyone out there to consider what workplace arrangement in the new year will enable this for you.
How have your workplace's policies around in-office face time evolved recently? What have been your experiences with any recent shifts?
Thanks again to Harvey Coyle at MHP Group for sharing this International Workplace Group plc data with me.

I'll be in Vienna, Austria 🇦🇹 Oct 20-22, staying near the Schönbrunn district. My schedule will be a bit tight, but if you're in the area and want to grab a quick coffee, DM me!
Thanks to all the SDA Bocconi MBAs who joined my personal branding workshop day here in Milan. A few of you asked me about how often to follow up with contacts who don’t respond to your initial message. There’s not a hard rule on this, but following up after 2-4 weeks should be fine. Try to be courteous, personalize the message, and share new information. If you’ve repeatedly followed up with someone 2 or 3 times, and if they don’t respond, I’d move on. The world’s a big place, and just remember, there’s probably someone else out there who would be open to connecting.
