I have a confession to makeā€¦

Iā€™m usually scared that one day Iā€™ll lose this account and lose contact with all of you.

This isnā€™t just an irrational fear. Itā€™s happened to some of my connections on Instagram and LinkedIn šŸ˜„šŸ˜„šŸ˜„

Hereā€™s what you need to know: as much as I love social media, itā€™s still a rented house, which means that, for some reason, we could lose access at any time.

Thatā€™s why I always encourage my clients to build marketing assets beyond Instagram.

Itā€™s a more holistic approach and gives you more control.

Social media, like Instagram, is a greattt tool for visibility, but to move the needle, building an email list should be your next step.

For the past 2 months, Iā€™ve been investing in email marketing courses to deepen my approach to relationship-building beyond social media, along with creating UGC content for brands.

The sales process starts long before you even realise it.

Recently, I bought from A instead of B.

WHY???

Both have large followings, both create brilliant, inspiring content, and both clearly know how to make good money from their skills.

But the KEY difference?

How they treated me at the touchpoints.

When I scrolled on social media, A and B both popped up on my IG/TT feed.

I signed up for their email lists and downloaded their freebies. Then, I had some questions. So, I reached out to both via comments and DMs.

Only A responded within 24 hours.
And she didnā€™t just reply.
She went above and beyond:

ā†’ She sent me a voice note.
ā†’ She gave detailed, resourceful answers.
ā†’ She even connected me with some contacts in the UK to verify a few things.

That level of customer service built my trust immediately. It wasnā€™t even a hard choiceā€”I went with A.

Your postā€™s lifespan is much longer than you think.

Last week, I had a 45-second post with a visual hook, text hook, trending sound, and my voiceover, but it didnā€™t get more than 300 views on Instagram.

I repurposed the same video, shorten the duration, changed the text hook, and changed the entire caption.

I posted it the next day on Instagram, and this time, it quickly gathered over +4K views and became one of the top-performing posts on the entire page.

So, the next time your post flops, donā€™t stop there.

You can either:
ā†’Repurpose the same content on the same platform, changing text hooks and captions.
ā†’Or repurpose the same content on different platforms, keeping everything the same to see how it performs.

Iā€™ve been living on this little square space for a year and have seen a lot of ups and downs with the algorithm.

Sometimes, no matter how much effort you put into your social media, your Reel views will still get stuck in the 200-view jail, or your reach/engagement will drop.

I FEEL YOU.

Motivation can easily come and go.
It sparks quickly but fades just as fast, like a flash in the pan.

Having worked with Japanese for years, I know how to put myself in your shoes and make sure you feel HEARD and SEENā€¦

Recently, I was astonished when a potential client told me their previous ā€œsocial media managerā€ lacked communication and always made them wait for 4-5 days to get a response.

Then, I heard another horror story about a ā€œsocial media managerā€ who just got paid andā€¦disappeared.

WTH? What has the world become? šŸ¤Æ

Listen, Iā€™m human too, so I understand that there are circumstances where we canā€™t respond to clients immediately,

OR there might be some untold story behind that unreliable attitude.

BUT I never let clients wait for more than a few days during weekdays, nor do I take their money and leave them hanging.

For me, communication & accountability are KEY to a successful client relationship šŸ¤

šŸ¤ When I send you a proposal and during our call, I will map out the timeline for us to work together for the first 3 months.

šŸ¤ During the first month of the onboarding process, I will keep you in the loop and communicate with you every step of the way.

šŸ¤ I would NEVER make changes to your social media profile without your confirmation or approval.

Iā€™ve analyzed a lot of Instagram/Linkedln profiles lately for Coaches and Online Business owners.

Here are 5 common mistakes Iā€™ve seen in their profiles again and again.

- Not making it clear who you can help and how in your bio. If itā€™s all about ā€œme, me, me, look how incredible I amā€ without mentioning your offer, itā€™s a huge mistake.

- Not making use of Highlight Stories to guide your potential buyers. If you say your Instagram is useless but your Highlight Stories arenā€™t optimized for sales, how can the magic happen?

- Not adding keywords in your username. If youā€™re a Career Coach, your username should include this keyword, not just your company name.

- Not having pinned posts to guide your potential buyers to your freebie or to learn more about you and your services.

- Not use hooks AT ALL in your captions.

If youā€™re posting on Instagram, having strong hooks is a must.
Here are some of my favorite hooks:

- My audienceā€™s pain points/desires
- Negative hooks
- Personal hooks
- Stats

2ļøāƒ£Not speaking directly to your target audience

This is where most business owners fail.
Youā€™re talking too much about yourself and your services, but too little to your audience.

The quickest way to build trust with your content is to talk to them, making them feel seen and heard!

3ļøāƒ£Not having a structured or easy-to-scan format
Content is king, but format is queen.
If you donā€™t use:
- White space
- Breakdown
- Bullet points
Itā€™s really hard to stop the scroll on social media.

4ļøāƒ£Not using storytelling techniques
Humans are naturally drawn to stories.
Iā€™m not saying every single post has to be mind-blowing stories, but you should always be willing to:
- Share your points of view
- Share your opinion
- Share your personal experiences

5ļøāƒ£Not engaging genuinely with other pages
Thereā€™s a hill I will die onā€¦ Engagement is HUGE on Instagram. I always make sure to engagement routine into my strategy. It helped me read the room, refine my content pillars, ideas, and so on.
Just simply support other pagesā€™ content, I learned so much!! And all of that reflects back on my content strategy.

The ONE thing I did to post consistently on LinkedIn & Instagram WITHOUT burnout

We all know content creation takes time.

5 hours per week when you first start, to say the least.

Then, when you start engaging and experimenting with new ideas, the time adds up.

Hereā€™s the good news (if youā€™re an online business owner):

You donā€™t need to post daily to stay top of mind.

The last thing you want to do is post random ideas that come to mind.

I posted only twice per week on LinkedIn.

And 3 times per week on Instagram when I first started.

Each post had a purpose.

I posted for my ideal clients and also for my peers.

By strategically posting, commenting, and optimizing my profile from the beginning, I achieved:
- Leads & sales
- Visibility & credibility
- Suprise opportunities
- More amazing friends who care about what I do

- It builds relationships. Itā€™s called ā€œsocialā€ for a reason. When I first started working on this account, my engagement was little to none. Now, you can see itā€™s a whole lot better. Itā€™s because I CARE. I value every interaction I get. By paying attention to each interaction and reciprocating, I foster a sense of community, avoiding turning my page into a ghost town.

If you're an online service provider or coach and you're not using LinkedIn to build your personal brand and attract ideal clients, you're missing out.

Ironically, LinkedIn folks don't seem to like Instagram, and vice versa.
..So, if you're torn between these 2 platforms, here's my take:

1ļøāƒ£ If you have LinkedIn anxiety, starting with Instagram and then branching out to LinkedIn will be a great choice. When you have a database of tried-and-tested ideas on Instagram, you can easily turn them into LinkedIn posts.

2ļøāƒ£ LinkedIn is writing-based. To share your opinion, you don't need a fancy house, a beautiful workspace setup, video editing skills, dancing reels, or even to show your face. You just need to showcase your writing skills, which is a HUGE advantage.

3ļøāƒ£ Growing a community on LinkedIn is quicker than on Instagram.
I started posting on both platforms almost at the same time, but unlike Instagram, I've quickly built a community of 1.5k accounts on LinkedIn. I know follower count is a vanity metric, but having a decent following can help increase credibility when you first start out on social media.

4ļøāƒ£ I didn't expect leads to come from LinkedIn. However, because of my online presence and the relationships I've built, I was approached by business owners and industry friends for collaboration.

āœļøTo ensure your posts get seen by more people, you need to have better engagement.
āœļøAnd to get higher engagement after posting, we need to post at the time when our audience is most active.
..So, how can we find out? Hereā€™s the breakdown:

1ļøāƒ£ KNOWING YOUR TARGET AUDIENCE:
Close your eyes and think of your ideal client!

If theyā€™re mostly the 9-to-5 female professionals, theyā€™re probably checking their phones in the early morning, during the lunch break, or after work.

By understanding their rhythms, you can strategically time your posts to catch their attention when theyā€™re most receptive.

2ļøāƒ£CHECKING YOUR INSIGHTS:
Instagram isnā€™t just a social platform. For data nerds, itā€™s a gold mine.

Instagram generously provides data about your followersā€™ activity peaks for FREE. By delving into these insights, you can pinpoint the most active times to post and maximize your Reach.

One pro tip is posting just before the peak time or delaying for a few seconds after the peak time (can anyone confirm this?! šŸ§)

3ļøāƒ£TESTING DIFFERENT TIMES:
Try posting at different times of the day to see when you get the most likes and comments. This helps you identify when your followers are most likely to engage with your posts.
