Reason Why We Travel Home.

The great Chinụa Achebe said that "A man who calls his kinsmen to a feast does not do so to save them from starving. They all have food in their own homes. When we gather together in the moonlit village ground it is not because of the moon. Every man can see it in his own compound. We come together because it is good for kinsmen to do so."

Let's strive to make our homeland a more habitable place.

What a Sight

Last night, as we gathered under the Udara tree, waiting to be served my own elderly portion from the goat that one of our young men gave to the Umunna to celebrate the New Year, as is our tradition, I looked up to the Sky and saw something extraordinary.

I knew millions saw it, but not many realised the importance. It was an extraordinary moment.

I knew it wasn't ordinary.

I knew it was a once in a time opportunity, so I brought out my camera and did what photography lured nature lovers to do.

It lasted for about two hours.

I waited and snapped away at an interval of 30 minutes each until it faded.

This morning, I searched and found that it was an extraordinary moment that my ignorance made ordinary.

This January 2025 is going to be a special month for stargazers. I was mightily privileged to see this great phenomenon, and bathed myself in the realisation of its awesomeness while enjoying the goatmeat with my Umunna.

The Spirit of Christmas

'Moving from house to house, dancing and eating rice. From one village to another.

It was an exploratory oddesey of sorts.

We knew every village, compounds and roads by the time we became teenagers.

We'll keep moving around, testing different flavours of rice..

Until the big Masquerades starts coming out

Then we go home to bathe, eat and come out to watch real Masquerades.'
