Sergio graduated from Universidad Mayor de San Andres (UMSA), La Paz, Bolivia, with a law degree and a postgraduate degree in Economic Law and Administrative Law. He has a long-lasting success record in the aviation sector, having advised several of the primary airlines operating in Bolivia, as well as engine and aircraft lessors. He has further advised, across various periods, the major airlines of Bolivia, and is counsel to several international airlines that operate in the region. Last, but not least, he is a member of the Bolivian Bar Association, as well as the Bar Association of La Paz.
In 2005, the UAE introduced Federal Law No. 28/2005 on Personal Status, based on Sharia Law. Today, three family laws exist: the amended Federal Law No. 28/2005, Federal Decree Law No. 41/2022 for non-Muslims, and Abu Dhabi Law No. 14/2021 for non-Muslims and expats without a religious family law.
