Creating Crazy Daisys was a journey powered by passion, resilience, and a commitment to telling real stories. From early script readings with director Sara Jane Kirkwood to late-night set builds and community collaborations, every moment behind the scenes was filled with dedication to Clydebank’s voice.

Local residents joined our team both in front of the camera and behind it, bringing an unmatched authenticity to the project. Working alongside our talented cast and crew, we transformed everyday spaces into the raw, vibrant world of Crazy Daisys, reflecting Clydebank’s heartbeat.

This project is more than just a film—it’s a shared effort of a community telling its own story. Thank you to everyone who poured their time, talent, and heart into every scene. 🌼

November 4, Crazy Daisy's screened to an audience of 190 people in Clydebank, and we are honored by the overwhelming support from the community. This film, directed by Clydebank native Sara Jane Kirkwood, is woven from the heart of Clydebank, portraying the struggles and resilience of four teenage girls facing the realities of poverty, friendship, and identity amidst some of Scotland's deepest socio-economic challenges.

This project is unlike any other—it was built with the community, for the community. Local residents were involved both behind the camera and in front of it, infusing the film with authenticity and ensuring it reflects the real stories and voices of Clydebank. We were thrilled to have the talented cast—Evie McColgan, Abbie Miller, Chloe Hodgson, and Olivia Adams—present at the screening, where they received heartfelt applause for their incredible performances.

In a region where over 30% of young people face unemployment, and issues like domestic violence and housing insecurity run high, Crazy Daisys shines a necessary light on these urgent issues, resonating deeply with those who live them every day. This screening wasn’t just a film debut; it was a gathering of a community standing together to confront and honor their experiences.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support this story—your presence made it unforgettable. Here’s to the power of shared stories and the incredible strength of Clydebank. 🌼

📽️✨ Yesterday, we celebrated the exclusive screening of Crazy Daisys at Omniplex Clydebank! Directed by Clydebank’s own Sara Jane Kirkwood, this powerful short film dives deep into the lives of young women navigating complex realities of poverty, identity, and resilience in Scotland. 🌸💪

It was incredible to see the community come together, with support from local businesses and stakeholders who believe in uplifting authentic stories. UNLEYEK is proud to have been part of this journey, helping to amplify voices and showcase underrepresented narratives on screen. Thank you to everyone who joined and supported this vision! ❤️
