Our new release is available for pre-order - a bit of read about the artist and the release below!

Kicking off its latest series “Rewind” focused on reissues, 3 Feet Deep travels back in time with DJ WHO to curate a selection of his favorite releases and a remix from Pepe Elle.

Hailing from Baltimore, producer & DJ Chip Watkins aka DJ WHO has released more than 50 records over the course of his two-decade long career. A master of versatility, his sound draws inspiration from many genres including breaks, house, UK bass and garage, and progressive tribal house.

Side A loads up two tracks. First up is the mesmerizing 2-step anthem I Like It, which draws the listener with its hypnotic loops, shimmering vocals, and a groovy chugging sub.
A2 Pump the Method was first recorded in mono for the legendary Love Parade, to – in his own words – “crush the crowd from the floats that were all in mono”. The result is a raw club tool with heavy breaks and a roaring bassline.

On the flip side, inspired by a trip out west to the San Francisco underground, B1 In D’Faze (Street Knowledge Mix) combines NWA samples with an irresistible percussive drum break, over a tweaking acid bassline giving it that old-school West Coast groove. 

Finally, Pépé Elle offers a fresh interpretation of A1 I Like It. Building on the enchanting vocals of the original track, he layers on spectral echoes, chopped punchy drums, and heavy bass sounds taking the original sound down a darker path.

The 3 A-side’s tracks smoothly transition from UKG to Breaks and Electro while all having the energetic signature of Pépé: witty 2-step drums and weighty bassline all the way through.

3FD keeps on rolling with release number 5 putting together 4 swingy bass driven 2-step heaters. A-side kicks off with PJ Bridger’s Dancefloor Spesh - the deep heavy bassline, the ravy dub sirens, and the vocals are setting off a rebellious atmosphere. Then, Warwick’s track, crossing over ukg and dubstep, displays even darker tones with crunchy drums, a heavy 808 and chopped rude MC’s vocals. The chords on the 2nd drop are airing up the tune for some old school delight.
B-side sees Pépé Elle and his samples dictate the rhythm: top chopped-up vocal and razor-sharp bass lines are dancing along the saxophone and the witty drums. Last of all, Hartta, with unpredictable percs/FX programming, retro-futurist vocals, and groovy stabs, is forging his own interpretation of nostalgia.

The second release of 3 Feet Deep takes on a darker tone, bringing together clubby tracks that are centered around strong basslines. Pépé Elle picks up right where he left off with “We Ain’t Taking Orders”—a furious track built around multiple hefty basslines, crispy hi-hats and snares, and a saturated 2-step beat. The following track “Alright Then” (Main Phase) is a consistent construction of soulful chords and rolling snares with an altogether simplicity yielding the floor to the bassline to rule. On the first half of B side, London producer Ollie Rant spans garage to jungle, sneaking in an array of sounds from an amen break to some cheeky strings, all the while keeping you on your toes in the best way possible. To close the EP, ZeroFG offers a slice of his dark garage universe: a low-frequency bassline, deep-pressure kicks, and shuffling hi-hats and shakers, altogether threading the lines between fierce and dreamy—perhaps an accurate way to describe the entire EP.
