In light of the up coming Coronation we'd like to share a somewhat delayed post on our brilliant Coronation celebration we cohosted with at on Tuesday 18th April. The event was a great success with guests enjoying a Special Cuvée served en Jeroboam, alongside some delectable treats created by Royal Warrant Patisserie Chef Didier Merveilleux

It was also a celebration of our commissioned portrait of King Charles III and the release of our latest magazine The Illustrated Coronation Edition. The brilliant artist joined us on the evening and gave us some words alongside ILN’s Lisa Barnard, Champagne Bollinger’s Victoria Carfantan and Burlington Arcade’s Trupti Shah.

The affair was a thorough celebration of the monarchy and his majesty. While there guests were serenaded by the London Scottish regimental band under (and standing on) the brilliant coronation decorations the Burlington Arcade have implemented.

We are proud to reveal the first commissioned portrait of His Majesty King Charles III. Painted in oils by the , it is the first portrait to be released since the change of reign and among the first to be commissioned.

The portrait was not Barford’s first royal portrait, we commissioned him in 2015 to paint Her Majesty the Queen in oils to mark her becoming the longest reigning British Monarch. This time round, Barford only had 2 weeks to complete the project rather than the 3 months he had previously. We’d like to thank him for the spectacular work he has done yet again!

The portrait of His Majesty King Charles III is featured in The Illustrated Coronation Edition, published by us and is the first dedicated Coronation edition to be published in 2023. In addition to the new portrait, it contains rare archive material of the former Prince of Wales and coronations though the ages. It will be in supermarkets including M&S, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Booths, Asda, Morrisons and WH Smith and Barnes & Noble in U.S from 30 March. Our new publication The Illustrated Queen Elizabeth, the commemorative edition from is now out on newsstands and at retailers @ and in U.S. and online at Record Reign (link in bio) ILN is fortunate with our wonderful archive material to have been documenting the Queen’s life since she was born. The team here at ILN put in extraordinary effort and turned round the issue in one week. Our cover is the stunning Pietro Annigoni portrait of Her Majesty which was published in the ILN’s Coronation Number, 30 May 1953, and in our opinion it stands out beautifully on the news-stands where you can find it right now!

Illustrated London News recently celebrated the launch of The Illustrated Platinum Jubilee publication. In collaboration with the Royal Warrant Holders Association and the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST), the event was held in the magnificent surroundings of the Library at The Reform Club in Pall Mall last week, when ILN’s CEO Lisa Barnard and glamorous guests galore raised a glass of Louis Roederer to Her Majesty The Queen.⁠

A portion of the cover price for the publication, now on sale nationwide and in U.S. for £7.99, will be donated to QEST to support the training of craftsmen and women.
