n and studio recording techniques. My experience in sound production covers branded content and commercials, TV and films, documentaries, and corporate videos. My production skills within the audible sonic frequency spectrum range lead me to work worldwide with A-list clients such as Nike, Converse, Vogue, Samsung, Sony, Skybet, Greenpeace, Unicef, Vice, McCann, Carlsberg, CNBC, ITV, Virgin, and artists including Antonio Banderas, Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things), Sheila Hancock, Gary Dourdan (CSI), Dermot O’Leary, Nico Rosberg, Rihanna, GIGGS, NERVO DJs and Muhammad Yusuf Khan. Working with Nigella is always a pleasure. She is truly passionate. She is always thorough and pays attention to sound details, being always flexible and open to change.
Her language, noise of kitchen utensils, and even silence elevate the video dramatically. Her sound is fundamental to engage the audience; it helps deliver information, it increases the production value and evokes emotional responses.
You really feel her love for what she’s doing and her desire to communicate the enjoyment of cooking.

For this shot, the culinary star is wearing DPA4061 for its really classy, uncoloured and open sound. I choose a Sennheiser MKH8050 on a stand slightly higher than usual to get a coloured sound, which reflects the acoustics of the room. Its supercar-cardioid polar patter to reject the noise coming from the side light on set. The lavalier is used as main mic to get direct sound while the shotgun to add a bit of ambient. The purpose was too keep a bit of the echo of the kitchen within the recordings in order to make the soundtrack more realistic and natural, so all women cooking at home have the feeling of being on set with the“Domestic Goodness”.
