A few photos from yesterday's run of Deeds & Destiny. Lots of dice rolled, lots of monsters defeated, the town of Hope's harbour built up from nothing. Undead dragon summoned, Goblin raids repelled, and the cursed lands starting to become habitable again.

The war against evil is over, and the good guys won. The Dracolich, the vile master of the Cursed Lands, has been defeated. His dread fortress is in ruins, his lands free from the grim curse for the first time in many generations.
But this victory came at a terrible cost. The realms of man, dwarf and elf barely survived his onslaught. The nations, guilds, holy orders and secret societies of the world are virtually destroyed, their champions defeated.
But that’s their problem - you’re here to build your fortune and make your name as an adventurer. As the tide of evil retreats through the Cursed Lands, regions thought lost to civilisation are reclaimed and new settlements bloom upon ancient ruins. Whatever your role was in the last battles of the war against evil, you’ve arrived at Hope’s Harbour, a newly founded bastion in the wilderness, in search of a new life.
There are riches here in these Cursed Lands, hidden in lost dungeons, crumbling castles, overgrown temples and blighted villages, all awaiting anyone brave enough to face the dangers and claim the rewards. Hope’s Harbour is little more than a few ramshackle huts, a base from which to set out, train, craft, trade and build.
But be warned, everyone has an agenda. Some may want to found a new city state, or reestablish order - but others wish to claim the dark powers that slumber for themselves. The scattered goblin tribes are beginning to return to the vacuum left by the demise of the Dracolich, seeking to establish a kingdom of their own - while the very land itself seems to rise up in anger and anguish, preparing to repel any new interloper.
Hope’s Harbour is what you all build of it, so grab your sword or spellbook, gather your party and venture forth!

Featuring loot, levels and (maybe) labyrinths, Deeds & Destiny is an in-person megagame for 40 players that fuses the core ideas from MMORPGs, tabletop RPGs, board games and more into a single day’s experience. You'll build your character, form parties, venture forth on quests, battle dungeon denizens, loot their worldly possessions, and rebuild a town in your own image as you face down a new power...
Unusually for a megagame, there are no preset teams. Each player is an individual adventurer who's arrived at Hope's Harbour in search of fame, fortune, and power - be that political or arcane. Although everyone is associated with one of the guilds, factions or secret societies that are vying for power in this new frontier – it will be up to you to support them in their goals or leave them to their squabbles.

The available role is Investor Relations for a scientific institution which means working closely together with your team, countries and corporations to sell the benefits of the science your team are developing. You'll also need to negotiate to secure enough funding to continue the team's great work (and we're sure ethics mean a lot too...). A Nobel Prize or two would be welcome along the way we're sure...
