Back home in Nigeria, we call any hot beverage tea—whether it’s made with Milo, Ovaltine, or hot chocolate.

Earlier this week, I posted about my daughter joining the "tea club," and the questions started rolling in. So, to clear things up—she drinks hot chocolate with British whole milk, not tea from a teabag!

I guess the Nigerian in me made me generalise, but let’s be honest—she’s way too demure for a teabag… innit? 😂

And no, please don’t ask me what innit means! 😂

But British 😂

My daughter has officially become a tea lover. Every morning, she insists on having her tea first before touching any food. I stopped giving her Aptamil when she turned 2 and introduced powdered milk, but with her tea obsession, we’ve now switched to British milk (fresh milk) so she can become a full member of the tea club! 😂☕

This is also a great way to prepare her for school since they serve British meals there. She’s loving her tea and milk combo—and I’m loving the fact that we’re saving money. Win-win!

Ever tried Eggplant with Peanut Butter?

Eggplant, also known as garden egg, comes in various species. This purple, seedless variety has a harder bark but a soft inner texture. Rich in fiber and vitamins, high in antioxidant and can be a good option if on a weight loss journey. it's a great snack option!

The combo? Surprisingly delicious—similar to garden egg with peanut butter. Definitely worth trying!

For my UK friends, I grabbed my peanut butter from Lidl, but you can also find it in African shops.

Childcare in the UK: Not Always a Walk in the Park!

Managing childcare for babies and toddlers under 4 can be challenging. With schooling starting at 3 years (Nursery) and Reception at 4 years, it’s a waiting game for many parents. The recent rule offering free childcare for babies as young as 9 months (limited hours) is a welcome change, though!

In the meantime, I’ve found educational toys to be a game-changer for home-schooling my little ones. They’ve made learning fun and engaging, and it’s amazing to see their progress.

Now I’m super excited as my kids will be starting school this year—I can’t wait to watch them step into this new chapter of their lives!
