This week is early years wellbeing week.
For us, besides her development. Our 3 year olds wellbeing is very important us. Below are some of the mindfulness activities we do with her.
1) Affirmations poster 📋
Positive affirmations helps children to gain confidence, contributes to a growth mindset, and helps children to truly believe in themselves. Children need to hear what makes them special and strong over and over again
2) Yoga 🧎🏾♀️
Yoga improves children's emotional regulation, it also helps to boost their self-estem, concentration, memory, strength and flexibility
3) Watering plants 💐
Looking after plants can help to reduce stress in children, it promotes a relaxed and natural state
4) Magnifying nature walk 🌳
We often use our STEM activity cards magnifying nature walk card. Playing outdoors allows children to develop self-confidence, independence and self-esteem and promotes positive well being

Have you heard of the latest Tik Tok trend #girlmath It's essentially the logic that women use for their spending decisions. We personally think it perpetuates negative stereotypes of women doing math. By making women doing maths a joke or mockery.
STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Maths) is already a very male dominated field. With only approx 27% of the STEM workforce being women. As a woman working in STEM, I previously didn't want to dress too feminine or wear make-up because I thought that I wouldn't be taken as seriously. So trends like #girlmath doesn't help us women in STEM or young girls who want to work in STEM. Girls are already made to believe at school that 'Maths is for boys', which naturally makes girls feel like they're not good at Maths.

What an amazing day we had yesterday at Afrori Bookshop's Black History Month event! We had so much fun being filmed by @itvnews as we did the workshop, focused on our STEM Leaders: Black inventors and innovators who changed the world book. But more importantly, seeing the impact and inspiration the book gave to the young children and how much fun they had with the science experiment and engineering activity we did. It was really a pinch me moment, and we're so thankful to be able to share our journey and why we started with @itvnews.
