After 25 years since its initial release, music enthusiasts can now rejoice as Mary Gauthier’s iconic album “Drag Queens in Limousines” is finally being released on vinyl. This long-awaited vinyl edition allows fans to experience the raw emotion and storytelling of Gauthier’s music in a whole new way. Gauthier’s lyrics are poetic and introspective, painting vivid pictures of the characters and stories she weaves throughout the album. Her distinctive voice, filled with raw emotion and vulnerability, adds an extra layer of authenticity to each track.
We wanted to exhibit the importance of Mary’s impact on the music industry and the LGBTQ+ community through experimenting with coloured vinyl, sparkly cassette, as well as adding a limited edition slip mat - also celebrating this iconic album’s 25th anniversary. Included in all record purchases is an album lyric book with never before seen liner notes written by Mary herself; reflecting on this record, her stories, and the entire journey 25 years later.
