Whenever most people hear prostate exam, they instantly thinks - fingers in the rear garden… but that’s not always the case now.
We’ve advanced quite a lot that there’s a few ways to perform an examination of the prostate. The common way which most people hear above is called a Digital Rectal Examination (DRE). Although it’s not the only option anymore, it’s one of the quickest results wise. The other ways are Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) testing as we spoke about in previous clips, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and other various forms of testing.

What is the function of your prostate?
The prostate is actually responsible for creating the the fluid that semen travels in through the body - seminal fluid. That’s why ejaculation can cause a stimulation to the prostate.
If you have your prostate removed aka a radial prostatectomy, then you’ll have no more seminal fluid meaning you can no longer ejactulate semen. Your testes will continue to make sperm cells but they won’t go anyway and will be absorbed back into the body.
This also means that you can’t have kids through intercourse 👀👀
