"Gilligan: The Tiny Kitten Who Stole Our Hearts and Left a Lasting Legacy ❤️🐾"
While I was looking at black kittens 🐱, my boyfriend saw and instantly fell in love with a tiny orange and white kitten 🧡🤍. He was so small, super cute, with big blue eyes 👀, a fluffy white chest, and a long tail that stood straight up! He was full of energy and loved life, and his best friend was a little dog 🐶. His name was Gilligan, and it fit him perfectly.
After we passed the shelter’s checks ✅, we finally brought Gilligan home 🏡. He had a loud meow in the car, but once he was inside, he ran around, found the toys we got him, climbed the curtains, and curled up in his bed 🛏️. He had such a big personality! He’d sleep in the crook of our necks, drag his 5-pound bag of kitten food into the bedroom, sit on my boyfriend’s shoulder while he cooked, and give and receive so much love ❤️. He’d literally lie on us and hug us.
Gilligan loved being outside 🌳, exploring but always staying close to home. One morning, he wasn’t around. Before work, I walked and drove around the neighborhood calling his name, but no luck. Later, at work, I got a heartbreaking call 💔—my boyfriend found Gilligan under his truck, unable to move, just meowing softly 😿. He had a blood clot in his leg. Even though he was hurt, he heard us calling him and dragged himself home because he knew we’d help him.
But we couldn’t. After two days at the vet, they told us we had to let him go 😢. Gilligan knew it too. He stopped looking at us or letting us snuggle him. It was like he was saying goodbye. My boyfriend and I lost the best thing that ever happened to us.
I’ve adopted again and will keep doing so, knowing that’s what Gilligan would want 🧡.
