I woke up to a stray cat in my bed this morning after my front door blew open during a wind storm last night
So I’ve posted already about this guy I named Sam who’s a very lovely stray that comes and visits me for a couple hours every evening and then leaves. Usually he sits outside the side door and waits until I open it. Then he sits on the couch with me or eats his food in the kitchen, takes a little nap and then leaves.
However last night there was a bad rain storm. I was out grabbing something from my truck and suddenly I heard a cry/meow from down the street. So I called out Sam’s name and he came running down the street towards me absolutely soaking wet and looked miserable. He followed me inside the house and let me towel him off and clean his muddy fur. I gave him some food, he took a nap and left after a couple hours. I went to bed about 4 hours later.
I woke up for work at 5am and sat up realizing there was a ball of floof in my bed. I was still half asleep and thoroughly confused for a few seconds. I pet the floof which meowed back so I turned on a light and realized it was Sam in my bed 😂😭 He was just laying there sleeping until I said his name and then he snuggled up next to me and started making biscuits. I was walking around the house trying to figure out how he got in and then discovered my front door was open halfway after being blown open from the windstorm.
Eventually I had to get ready for work so I sat down on the couch and he sat down next to me and held my leg 😭❤️

At 11:54am on 2/16/23 I had to say goodbye to my first Yorkie and what a special girl she was. We fought so hard to save her but she had heart failure for 4 years and the heart medications destroyed her kidneys and in the end she died of kidney failure. I would have done anything to save her, but unfortunately God had other plans. This is the last picture I have of the two of us. We will miss you. MOMMY LOVES AND MISSES YOU SOOOOOO MUCH MY GORGEOUS LITTLE GIRL. Run free sissy and take care of me and please come visit me in my dreams.

Today I was asked if I am any good with phones by an elderly man as he was trying to open a picture message that his granddaughter had sent.
After putting Sienna in her pram, I took a look at his phone which was a really old Nokia. As he didn’t have a smart phone I told him that he wouldn’t be able to view it. He was gutted and went on to tell me that it was a photo of his granddaughter and her new baby who he hadn’t seen yet as they live in Buxton.
So, I forwarded the message to my phone and eventually managed to open the picture. He was so emotional seeing his great granddaughter for the first time and you could see his love for them both through his teary eyes.
The man insisted on giving me £20 to treat my daughter to a toy as a thank you for helping him which I insisted I didn’t want, but he was having none of it. So, I asked him to wait there and I went to boots and printed the photo for him and ended up buying a frame for it too.
When I returned with the framed photo, he was so happy, literally overwhelmed.
This just made my day to make someone so happy. ❤️

“We flew Westjet Flight #1221 from Fort Lauderdale at 9:30pm (arriving in Toronto past midnight yesterday) with a toddler whose only flight experience was the week prior.
The moment I saw you (a big, macho looking guy in probably your late twenties), I was worried that you wouldn’t take kindly to and would be offput by sitting beside a small child. I was completely wrong, and for that I am so grateful.
The seatbelt sign remained on for quite a good portion of our flight for turbulence, which meant instead of sitting and being comforted on mine or grandpa’s lap, he had to be belted in beside you instead.
I didn’t get your name, but thank you so much for grabbing his blanket the numerous times he dropped it, half asleep. Thank you for making sure to point your cabin light away from him when he finally did fall asleep. Thank you for being kind and engaging him even though you weren’t obligated to do so. Thank you for offering him (and us) candy and gum for his ears. Thank you for letting him rest his little tired legs and feet on you. And thank you for offering to get down all of our overhead luggage so he wouldn’t be disturbed.
Although my son is generally well behaved and quiet, I was anxious and concerned about how these first departure and arrival flights would go for him. People can be unkind and impatient, especially with small, overtired children.
Thank you for making our flight experience a lesson in compassion and empathy for others. That little boy will grow into a man one day (hopefully like you) and he will get a lot more out of your simple actions than you realize. You will make a wonderful father some day if you so choose.”
Love,
An Anxious Mother

Dear Home Bargains, Just been in to your Walton Vale Store, Liverpool. I stood almost in tears watching one of your shop assistants helping an older man; so much care and compassion, going through his shopping list with him, carrying his bags, getting him a stool to sit on when he needed a rest then helping him to count his money. What a credit to your company this man is - well done!

In 2001, Holly Shearer was just a teenager when she gave birth to a baby boy. Unable to take care of him, she had to give him up for adoption.
The baby boy, Benjamin Hulleberg, now 20, had always been curious about his birth mom. He tried to find her several times but had no luck.
Last year, white searching online, Holly stumbled upon Benjamin's page. She sent him a message for his birthday and Benjamin replied. When Holly texted back and explained who she was, his whole world turned upside down.
"This is the day I had been waiting for for the last 20 years of my life and to imagine that it was finally happening was outrageous. It was a lot to take in." Benjamin commented.
The two of them didn't want to wait any longer, so they met the next day. They chatted for a few hours and it turns out they both worked at HCA Healthcare's St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT.
"Being able to sit down with my biological mom and just have coffee and talk before I go on my shift at the NICU? It's been amazing," Benjamin added.

A couple of weeks ago the wife and I were standing in line at a Sun City Arby's for a quick bite. The line was eight deep when I noticed a old man with the name "Marines" on the back of his baseball cap. He and his "wife" were searching their pockets for change, having decided on getting the $6.00 Special of two fish sandwiches. As they stepped up to place their order, the old man his shaking hands holding little more than $6.00 in change, I excused myself in front of the waiting customers ahead of me to get to the counter. I heard several folks grumble about me cutting in front of them as I made my way to the cashier, but my wife, who had stayed in place, quietly said, just watch. The old man had placed his order of the fish sandwiches and for two water cups. He put his change on the counter and was about to push it to the cashier, when I put my hand on his shoulder and said "Semper Fi Marine", Thank You For Your Service this is on me. I gave the cashier a twenty dollar bill, and said let's start over. Immediately turning to look me in the eye, he responded with "Do or Die"! I helped him finish his order with milkshakes, fries, and a couple of turnovers for dessert. Both had teary eyes as they made their way to a table, and surprisingly so did most of the people I'd cut in front of getting to the counter. Except for the two big bikers who were directly in front of us. They claimed it was allergies that made their eyes leak. We finally received our order and headed to the dining area where we saw that the old couple had made room for us at their table. What had started out as a quick evening meal, ended up being an hour and a half long dinner engagement. I learned that he had slugged it out on both Saipan and later on Iwo Jima as a 19 year old, with Purple Hearts from both actions. For me, some days just don't get better than this.

To the family in the red SUV at Meyers today!
Yes I am a rough-looking un groomed guy with motorcycles and I am a dirty mechanic, I am loud, I swear and I look like I would eat your soul if you stare at me wrong.
What you don't know is that I have been happily married for 14 years, my grandbabies call me papaw and love sitting on my motorcycle, my kids call me daddy, and my mother is proud of me and tells everyone how lucky she is to have such a wonderful son, my nieces, and nephews are always happy to see there uncle Doug, when my daughter had meningitis I cried more than she did. I read books, I help people, I go out of my way to thank war veterans and I even cried at Armageddon.....
So next time I smile and say hi to your little girl and you grab her and tell her "No no dear we don't talk to dirty bikers" Remember that even tho you hurt my feelings this "dirty biker” would be the first person to run into your burning house to save your little girls gold fish so she wouldn't be sad!!!!

”I teach 8th grade. This week, my homeroom took an angel off the “giving tree” – a little girl. All she asked for was a bike & clothes. My kids all agreed to bring in $2 each & we’d buy her clothes bc we couldn’t afford to get the bike. Then today, very quietly one of them came to my room with this.”

"Me and my dad are at Outback and I wanted to post about this manager. I don't know him but I want to give him credit...
He is busing tables, filling drinks and running food...
He doesn't have to do any of that but he could tell that they were busy. He was helping his employees. This is a great example of management. He doesn't get tipped out but he wants his server to make good money, and have a flow of customers. He is showing his employees team work and that he isn't going to let them fail.
Being a leader and setting an example is management, yelling at your employees to do something isn't."
