Anders Antonsen a.k.a. "your favorite badminton player" deservedly won the Li-Ning China Masters Super 750 tournament in Shenzhen. 🥇

Upsetting the likes of Viktor Axelsen (semi), and Jonatan Christie (final) on his way to victory, Anders Antonsen demonstrated his tactical prowess along the way.

With this win, AA will take the position as world number 2 on the BWF World Ranking relegating his compatriot Viktor Axelsen to the number 3 spot.

Congratulations to Anders. It shall be interesting to see how he will fare at the season finals coming up soon.

BREAKING NEWS - PETER GADE WILL JOIN VIKTOR AXELSEN COACHING TEAM

Legendary Peter Gade will join the Viktor Axelsen coaching team alongside Viktor's father-in-law P.K. Rode. This will likely become a legendary coach-player coupling.

More to follow (the picture is from years ago when a young Viktor Axelsen played a match against Peter Gade).

10 years ago the men's singles world ranking looked like this.

Really an amazing group of players including several GOAT's.

Two players are still ranked inside the top 10 today and that's quite an extraordinary achievement. We're of course referring to Axelsen and Chou.

VERDENSRANGLISTENS TOP 10 FOR 🔟 ÅR SIDEN
Kig engang på verdensranglistens top 10 i herresingle for 10 år siden.

Som i dag, havde Danmark to spillere repræsenteret i top 10.

Bliver spændende at se hvordan listen ser ud om 10 år....

Chirag Sen is the brother of Lakshya Sen. 🏸

Ranked in the top 100 currently, he seems an unorthodox player, which is totally great.

Chirag Sen lost this match to Belgium's rising star / - but it was not for the lack of trying.

Scandinavians rally it out, but the Dane did not see that last shot from the Swede.

Once upon a time, Sweden produced quite a few high-level badminton players.

Hopefully, we'll see many more great Swedish players on the various circuits in the coming years.

Anyhow, in this rally, Bjorkler of Sweden got the better of Ditlev Jaeger Holm of Denmark. The Dane went on to win the match at the Dutch Open.

So sad - badminton has been removed from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2026. 😢

Interestingly, the organizers have found that NETBALL must be included whilst badminton, hockey, and shooting, for example, will not.

It is a travesty!

Badminton England is deeply disappointed to receive confirmation that badminton, one of the most popular, inclusive and accessible participation sports in this country, has not been selected to feature as part of a significantly reduced Commonwealth Games programme in Glasgow 2026. Our England playe...
