I was visited by a young man, Younglan Talyoung, a medical student of the University of Jos. He is a vibrant and courageous individual who spoke with confidence and audacity in his presentation. Most remarkable was the depth of empathy he conveyed through his words.

I was also visited by my brother from Kanam, Comrade Emmanuel Zopmal. It was indeed a great day.

I was deeply honoured to serve as Chairman of the BIT POL Cultural Festival 2026, held in Nyak, Shendam Local Government Area of Plateau State - the hometown of His Excellency, Dist. Sen. Simon Bako Lalong.

The annual festival brought together sons and daughters of Nyak Ajikamai from across the country, alongside guests from within and outside Plateau State.

I was accompanied by my lovely wife, Timbyen Daser ; Hon Ezra Dakup, former Member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Pankshin South Constituency; Mr. John Dakwak Alpha, former President of the Mupun Community Development Association; and a close political ally from Benue State Hon. Orngu Anngu.

As Chairman, I led tributes celebrating Senator Lalong’s exceptional mentorship and leadership, which have produced men and women contributing meaningfully at state and national levels. I expressed my personal gratitude for the opportunity to serve as the pioneer Director-General of PICTDA, an experience that shaped my leadership journey.

Other tributes were delivered by the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Gapyil Daniel; Chief Kefiano Kefas Ropshik ; Hon. James Lalu; and others, all acknowledging Senator Lalong’s humility and commitment to empowering others.

The Long Gamai of Gamailand, His Royal Highness Miskoom Martin Shaldas III, also commended Senator Lalong for promoting the culture and traditions of the Gamai people.

In his remarks, Senator Lalong attributed all accolades to God, appreciated the support of Plateau people and Nigerians, and called for continued support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in building a better and more prosperous nation.

2025 was an extraordinarily great year, not because it was perfect, but because it was rich with lessons and provided countless platforms for learning. I witnessed God’s direct hand in certain matters and saw the Scriptures of the Holy Bible come alive before my eyes.

The year unfolded like a chapter of the Bible, with every verse manifesting as lived experiences.

I made new friends, and I also lost some. I gained new adversaries too. Each of them, in their own way, contributed to making the year meaningful and transformative.

Through the support of many, I was privileged to impact the lives of numerous young people across Plateau State in ways that can only be described as extraordinary.

God made it happen.

One of the strongest revelations of 2025 is this: we are preparing our youth too late. The disparity in access to quality education between rural and urban communities remains alarmingly wide. This gap is neither new nor exaggerated, and it demands collective responsibility. We must all join hands to reduce it.

I had my secondary education in a village with almost zero access to basic educational resources. It took the sacrifice of a knowledgeable father and extra personal effort for me to compete with my peers in the city. Sadly, this challenge persists today—largely unattended to.

My vision for 2026 is clear.

In my own little way, I will focus on addressing this problem. I will be investing my earnings in building an affordable rural technical school of global standard. This is not only my response to a burden that has lived in my heart for years, but also my contribution to the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, supporting the broader goal of redefining education in Nigeria.

Join me this year as we work toward balancing access to education. One step at a time.

And "yels", prepare to send your children to Kagu in September 2026.

Happy New Year to you all. May 2026 be greater than all the years combined.

Merry Christmas to you and your family.

The news of the tragic accident involving students of the University of Jos is deeply heartbreaking. In the early hours of Thursday, December 11, 2025, we lost at least eight vibrant young students and the bus driver after a trailer lost control and collided with their vehicle along Zaria Road. Two others are currently battling for their lives in the hospital.

This is a devastating moment for their families, the UNIJOS community, and the entire Plateau State. No words are enough to comfort the parents, friends, and colleagues of these young souls whose dreams were cut short so suddenly.

My heartfelt condolences go to the bereaved families and to the management, staff, and students of the University of Jos. May God grant strength to the grieving families and healing to the injured. May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace.

This is a dark moment for us all. May we find unity, compassion, and collective resolve to support one another through this painful time.

A few days ago at Edwin Clark University, I gave a convocation lecture where I shared an idea I once learned from Kola Ina - the founder of Ventures Platform. I told the graduating students that there are three important qualities young people need to succeed: curiosity, empathy, and urgency.

Curiosity helps you ask questions and learn.
Empathy helps you understand and care about others.
Urgency pushes you to act quickly and make progress.

These qualities are what help any society with many young people to grow.

But when I look back home here on the Plateau, I worry. Instead of using these qualities to build their lives and communities, many of our youths are using their time and energy for Facebook fights, insults, and endless arguments. The curiosity that should lead to new skills becomes curiosity for gossip. The empathy that should heal our divisions becomes harsh comments. The urgency that should drive progress becomes urgency to reply an online insult.

Before we talk about anything else, let’s accept one truth: we have not handled our youths well on the Plateau. We have not provided enough guidance, support, or opportunities. And when young people lack direction, they pour their energy into whatever is available—even if it does not help them.

According to CityFacts, the median age in Plateau State is 17.8 years.

This means half of our population is younger than 17.8 years. Simply put: Plateau is a very young state.

But if we are truly this young and full of energy, then we must ask ourselves some honest questions:

Where are our innovations?

Why are the people contributing nothing to the progress of our state suddenly the loudest on Facebook?

Why are the real inventors, builders, and creatives. The ones who should be inspiring everyone - so quiet?

And with things going this way, what will Plateau State look like 20 years from now? Will we end up with a generation of loud but broke elders, people who spent their youth trying to “win” every argument, yet gained nothing meaningful from it?

A youthful population is a blessing only if we prepare them well. If not, the same energy that should build our state can easily be wasted or misused.

This is why I want to speak directly to our youths:

You have energy, passion, intelligence, and strength. Please stop wasting it on social media outrage, insults, and online battles that add nothing to your future. Facebook fights will not give you skills. Twitter wars will not put food on your table. Online insults will not build your life.

Use that same energy for something profound:

Learn a skill.
Volunteer somewhere.
Join a productive community.
Start a business idea.
Build relationships.
Educate yourself.
Work toward something that improves your life.

The energy you put into attacking each other online can change your entire future if you channel it the right way.

Right now, there are too many “devil’s workshops” waiting for idle hands. But there are also countless opportunities waiting for determined minds.

Our future as a state depends on what you, the youths, choose to do with your time and energy. You have what it takes to lift Plateau higher. Let’s use our strength for building, not for tearing each other down online.

Let's wake up!!!!
All of us!!!

I greet una!!! Twalle!!!

The Plateau State Chapter of the City Boy Movement Yesterday inaugurated its Local Government and Ward Coordinators at a well-attended ceremony held at Crest Hotel, Jos.

The event attracted prominent political figures, including the Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daniel Naanlong, and former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Sanda. The event was chaired by the Plateau state APC Chairman, Hon. Rufus Bature. Also in attendance was Hon. Suleiman Kwande, former Member of the House of Representatives forth Jos North/Bassa Constituency, along with several dignitaries, party leaders, and vibrant support groups from across the state.

Elder Nanle Gujor added spice to the event with a beautifully scripted lecture on the topic “Politics without Bitterness”

Speaking at the ceremony, I described the inauguration as “an important milestone in strengthening the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across Plateau State.”

As the Director of the Plateau state chapter, I charged the newly inaugurated coordinators to demonstrate discipline, integrity, and commitment as representatives of the movement:

“Your appointment is not a title; it is a responsibility. You are the face of this movement in your communities. Mobilize with wisdom, promote peace, and educate your people on the Renewed Hope agenda.”

I reaffirmed the movement’s partnership with the APC leadership in the state, emphasizing alignment and loyalty:

“We remain fully aligned with the vision of the APC in Plateau State. We are not competing with the party; we are partners in progress, committed to strengthening our structures across all wards and polling units.”

I also made a direct appeal to all APC members and supporters of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu:

“This is the time for unity, partnership, and collective action. The City Boy Movement is your platform. Let us work together to secure a stronger Plateau and a stronger APC.”

Special appreciation to supporters and sponsors who made the event possible. Specifically, my acknowledged goes to the National Charman of the APC. Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, the Pastor Reuben Initiative, Plateau state House of Assembly , and several groups and individuals whose contributions continue to strengthen the movement.

“Your commitment and contributions have reinforced the foundation upon which we continue to build. We deeply appreciate your unwavering support,” I said.

Dignitaries present at the event commended the City Boy Movement for its organisational capacity and its role in deepening grassroots political mobilisation across Plateau State. They described the initiative as timely and strategic, especially as the state continues to strengthen democratic engagement.

The inauguration marks a new phase of coordinated grassroots action as the City Boy Movement intensifies its efforts to spread the Renewed Hope message across Plateau communlnl

Still humbled and deeply honored.

Last Sunday, I was recognized by Black Giant Signature at the African Giants Award in Abuja, under the inspiring theme "Celebrating Agents of Economic Growth and Social Advancement in Africa."

I received the award of Digital Giant of the Year 2025. A reminder that the work we do in technology, innovation, and human capital development truly matters.

I couldn’t be there in person, but my brother, Bar. Jonathan Plangzak, graciously represented me and conveyed my appreciation.

A heartfelt thank you to the organizers for this recognition. It fuels the passion to keep building, keep enabling, and keep pushing for a digitally empowered Africa.
