The day of recording at we had lots of tracks to get through over a 12 hour day! and the other musicians were only available for a couple of hours each over different points of the day, so we had to plan the session down to the minute. We tracked the drums, piano, bass and guitars in 2 or 3 takes then moved straight onto vocals. Our engineer set up a variety of vocal mics to give us a variety of sounds. We ended up mixing between 3 vocal stems - a vintage, a modern and a distorted sound.
