In my experience, sobriety makes good on the sparkle that booze/drugs/numbing promises but never delivers. Today I'm sharing what being sober has meant to me, done for me, and why I think recovery is one of my greatest superpowers.. When I got sober, I thought giving up [alcohol] was saying goodbye to all the fun and all the sparkle, and it turned out to be just the opposite. That’s when the sparkle started for me. . I now have peace in my life that I haven't had for years . People who are close to me all say I'm a completely different person and losing mum recently has humbled me and given me clarity. I wasn't capable of being in a relationship because of my destructive behaviour and my lies . I wasn't relationship material so my relationship suffered. I am now the man I always should have been and I'm ready to live and love . Life's tragedy is we get old too soon and wise too late 💯❤️💪🏿
