Alex (loves languages) and Jonny (loves stories) have been friends for almost 8 years. Ever since they met, they’ve been thinking of ways to combine their two passions into a business. The first time they tried they were just 17 years old and ended up dressing as penguins and sleeping on boxes full of books. One Third Stories is the culmination of all that experience, a lot of coffee and the belie

f that every child should grow up with the chance to be bilingual. We’re out to start a language learning revolution. Our beautifully illustrated stories start in English and end in a different language, using the Clockwork Methodology. Find out more and join our monthly Story Box Club: https://goo.gl/r7ktVe

In France, Spain, and Mexico, November is a month rich in tradition and cultural celebrations that mark the changing seasons and honor the departed.

In France, All Saints' Day (La Toussaint) is celebrated on November 1st. Families visit cemeteries to clean and decorate graves with chrysanthemums, a flower associated with remembrance. It’s a reflective holiday that honors family and community.

Spain also celebrates All Saints' Day (Día de Todos los Santos) on November 1st, with families visiting graves and leaving flowers. In Catalonia, the night before is celebrated with Castanyada, where people enjoy roasted chestnuts, sweet potatoes, and panellets (almond sweets). In Galicia, the holiday connects to ancient Celtic traditions.

In Mexico, Día de los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) on November 1st and 2nd is a joyful celebration of life and death. Families create altars (ofrendas) with candles, marigolds, food, and photos to honor ancestors, inviting spirits to visit. Known worldwide, this holiday features vibrant traditions like sugar skulls and painted faces.

What special festivities does your country participate in for November?

This upcoming month — more specifically, November 11, St. Martin's Day is celebrated in many parts of Europe, particularly in Italy.

This tradition is celebrated with glowing lantern processions! Children walk through the streets, singing songs, and lighting up the night to honor the saint who shared his coat with a beggar.

Find out how you can celebrate this heartwarming tradition with your family on our blog! We also have free language learning resources available, attached to this blog.
