We round off Plaza 80s in 2024 at the Plaza Community Cinema with the Christmas Special on Saturday 14th December. This year’s 1980s Christmas film is the 1989 classic, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (12A).

National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a 1989 American Christmas comedy film and the third instalment in National Lampoon magazine’s Vacation Film Series. The film was directed by Jeremiah S.Chechik, written and co-produced by John Hughes, and starring Chevy Chase, Beverly D’Angelo and Randy Quaid. The film tells the story of Clark Griswold’s efforts to have a good old fashioned family Christmas.

Nick Gartland will be on warm up before the main film with a 80s Christmas themed DJ set. Christmas Jumpers optional!

There will be a bar and a food bank collection on the night.

Tickets go on sale on Monday 28th October priced only £7 via the following:

Four years ago, the music world lost the legendary José Padilla, resident at Ibiza's Café del Mar.

A pioneer in the 'balearic' style of music and a massive influence on me with his iconic chill out compilations starting in the 1990s. Café del Mar Ibiza

It's been an amazing five months of Sunset Sessions this year at The Lake House, Waterloo. There has been some boss Fridays and boss sunsets down there overlooking the lake. ☀

A massive thank you to everyone who came to Plaza 80s Presents 3rd Birthday - The Blues Brothers last night, it was a top night. A massive thank you to all the staff, volunteers and the team involved running the event.

Plaza Community Cinema are celebrating Halloween this year with two special events which will cater for everyone. Here we go with our second announcement for Halloween at Plaza Cinema for 2024!

The family will love our Plaza Halloween Family Special with ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas' (PG) on Thursday 31st October (6pm).

The Nightmare Before Christmas (also known as Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas) is a 1993 American stop-motion animated musical fantasy film directed by Henry Selick in his feature directorial debut and produced and conceived by Tim Burton. It tells the story of Jack Skellington, the King of "Halloween Town", who stumbles upon "Christmas Town" and schemes to take over the holiday. Danny Elfman wrote the songs and score and provided the singing voice of Jack.

Horror film fans will love our Plaza 80s Halloween Special with ‘A Nightmare On Elm Street’ (18) on Saturday 26th October (7pm) which has just celebrated it’s 40th anniversary.

A Nightmare on Elm Street is a 1984 American supernatural slasher film written and directed by Wes Craven and produced by Robert Shaye. It is the first instalment in the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and stars Heather Langenkamp, John Saxon, Ronee Blakley, Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger and Johnny Depp in his film debut. The film's plot concerns a group of teenagers who are targeted by Krueger, an undead child killer who can murder people through their dreams, as retribution against their parents who burned him alive.
