I thought it was about time I re-introduced myself… 👋

Here’s a few things about my journey into business that you may or may not know 👇

⚡️ I spent 13 years working in the Higher Education sector; specialising in advocacy, campaigning and engagement.

⚡️ In April 2019, I walked away from my job as a Head of Department, without another one to go to, because I was done being miserable.

⚡️ To keep myself sane and re-find my love of writing, I started a personal blog and Instagram account, which became like a virtual journal following my journey to discover what ‘having it all’ really meant to me.

⚡️ I talk openly about my experiences with ill mental health. I’ve always been lucky to never experience this, until my daughter was born in 2016. She was very poorly and we nearly lost her.

⚡️ In the 2 years that followed, we had more physical and mental health scares, that permanently shifted my perspective on what actually matters.

⚡️ I’ve since done a whole lot of healing and work on myself, and opened my own business to allow me to create the life I want for me and my family.

⚡️ Be Heard Socials is now just over 6 years old, and echoing my personal values; has family, freedom, simplicity, kindness, fun and feminism rooted into everything I do.

⚡️ I’m passionate about making a positive difference on the world and in other people’s lives, and try to shape everything my business does around that.

⚡️ I bring a wealth of skills and experience with me, including over 19 years in customer engagement and campaign delivery; as well as over 14 years in management and strategic planning.

⚡️ I now utilise the skills I gained in my employed life to benefit my members and their businesses. The Boss Your Socials Club enables them to reduce their overwhelm, focus on their core business and use their time in the most productive way; whilst maintaining a consistent presence on social media.

So that’s a whistle stop tour of my journey into running my own business 😅

She spoke to beautifully about how in a patriarchal society, “having it all” often just means doing it all - and that’s not sustainable for anyone.

So now I'm passing on the reminder...

We don’t have to fill every corner of our life or business to prove ourselves.

The real win is choosing what truly matters and giving ourselves permission to let the rest go!
