In 31 days time my 3 year long Restraining Order ends. A journey of shame, guilt but most of all unconditional love. I suppose this morning as I wake the words of Dusty from 1969 which her classic song 'I can't make it alone' sum up my thoughts as we wend the closing lap:

Now you know me
You know how proud I am
And what I'm gonna tell you now
Won't be easy to say
Before I left your side
Oh, I was so happy then
But I've been so lonely
Since I've been away, oh, baby
I've tried and I know I can't make it alone
It's such a hard way to go, I just can't make it alone
There's something in my soul
That will always lead me back to you (Always)
What can I say now?
Sorry is just not good enough
I couldn't blame you if you hurt me now
The way I hurt you then

Now we all now the the 17th March is the Feast Day of St Patrick. But is also the Feast Day of St Gertrude of Nivelles, in Medieval Times the chaser awayer of mice and rats and in modern day times the Patron Saint of Cats ! - who knew. Here is the revered Icon of St Gertrude quite literally with here hands full. She has her staff, a copy of the Holy Bible and a lovely little ginger cat in her arms! I am a cat lover as is my Wife Nikki and our Daughter Rebecca and in 2028 we got a lovely little ginger tom kitten from the Pet Shop on County Road Walton Liverpool L4 who we named Manhattan, and we also called him Hattie or Pumpkin or Little Ging ! I haven't seem him since 2020 but I do hope he is still alive and if so he should know that St Getrude is looking down on him. But if he has left us I firmly know that he will be the side of St Getrude, our lovely little ginge Hattie ###

The go to film and main song from the film for those on the In or On Probation Like Me. McVicar (1980). Unless you have been deprived of things and people that you treasure, you may not get this, but then again ###

Don't plead no special case for me
Because there ain't no way I'll get my liberty
I'm back inside, I've been betrayed
Now I know this is the greatest robbery

Night after night
I lie awake and watch the morning break

Don't think you'll see me here again
You better find another man to take the blame
Oooh, Oooh Oooh, It's getting late
I better sweat it out and get myself in shape

You see in the end it is all above for my

These Phil Collins lyrics from 1984 really sum it all up, they really do ###

How can I just let you walk away?
Just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking every breath, with you, ooh
You're the only one who really knew me at all

How can I just let you walk away?
Just let you leave without a trace
When I stand here taking every breath, with you, ooh
You're the only one who really knew me at all

This is a lovely photo of me with our beautiful Daughter Rebecca at the exclusive Ivy Restaurant in St Johns Wood London NW8 with my caring Wife Nikki in late April 2019 just a few days after I received a nasty scar to the skull in a recent taxi car accident. The accident was truly scary I lost a lot of of claret on the day but survived. I shat myself I thought I would die right in the back of the crumpled taxi. BUT I GOT ADDICTED TO ALCOHJOL AND CO-CODAMOL to stifle my skull pain and I am so ashamed I can still recall the shriek from my Wife Nikki when she first saw me at Northwick Park Hospital in Brent/Harrow covered in claret. Literally covered from head to toe in blood. I haven't seen my Wife Nikki or our Daughter Rebecca since Oct 2020. This really hurts me but I understand why. I have so much to say to Rebecca and give her (and also my Wife Nikki) when my 1085 days long Restraining Order ends in now 62 day days time. My Probation Officer has always said to me I have to wait to then it is simple as that. I just have to wait. But tonight, I want to pass onto Rebecca the words of this special song as Bex makes her own way in life. It called 'Make your own kind of Music' by Cass Elliot (1969) and then Paloma Faith (2018) and these words are sent to me by your Daddy to our great Daughter Rebecca ###
Nobody can tell you
There's only one song worth singing
They may try and sell you
Cause it hangs them up
To see someone like you
But you gotta make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind of music
Even if nobody else sings along

On 4th Dec 2021, just over 2 years ago, I launched my book 'The Boy from Neighbourhood 54' on a rainy evening at the Swan Pub in Huyton and vowed on that evening to sell 10,000 signed copies before my 3 Year Restraining Order ends on 21st March 2024. I did get some strange looks from people near and far when I made that comment Well today, I met that target, 107 days early and took my last couple of orders today, wrote out the invoices, banked some cash and cheques for book orders. With the support of so many of you, via book purchases, prayers and messages of support many many of you have helped me reach the 10,000 sales target. Oh, and also those few negative messages also spurred me on . So what does this all mean, what will I do next. Well in the run up to Christmas I will take it easy a little. But it means two things. It demonstrates to my Wife Nikki and Daughter Rebecca (and those whispering into their ears and phones) that I can do positive things and generate a stable income for us all. Second, when I sought to get represented by a Literary Agent in 2022 the message often came back - 'yes interested but come back when you have sold 10,000 copies'. Needless to say I will be knocking on their doors in January. And after all of this what do I do next. Well my plan is ow with the support of an Agent is to sell 100,000 copies of the book. On the face of it 100,000 seems a massive target. Just like in Nov 2021 when I announced my 10,000 target I am getting a few strange looks about this larger target. But when I was under treatment for what I did to Nikki on the Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Programme in June 2021 when I started writing this book, selling 10 copies, never mind 10,000 or 100,000 seemed impossible. Once again thank you all for your support, Ray.
You see what you have to do is quite simple, believe, and NEVER, and I mean NEVER give up hope, even when all around and those nasty little voices in your head are telling you get a proper job and move on. I have to say special thanks go to my Offender Manager at HM Probation Service and the two therapists who supported me week in week out in 2021 when I was being treated by them. The three of them NEVER gave up, they have always supported me. I am grateful of that ###
I am doing all of this for me, and my Little Family Nikki and Rebecca. For me its all about love, unconditional love and saying sorry to Nikki and Rebecca in 64376 words. I haven't known what it was like to feel proud of myself for a good many years. But today I feel proud and happy. I am going for walk now and grab a lovely cup of coffee ###

Thank you all, really thank you. Looking at my Sales spreadsheet from last week for my second book 'The Boy from Neighbourhood 54' I have now reached over 9000 book sales - now at 9003 sales after Sunday. I plan to reach 10,000 sales by the time my Restraining Order ends on 21 March 2024. I hope to reach this before Christmas. Why I am d**g this? Well that is simple. To be able to support my Wife Nikki and Daughter Rebecca when I can from March 2024 onwards. I will be back in touch with my FB friends who have placed order from a November delivery as a Christmas Gift and of course if you would like a signed copy please just let me know. All my love and prayers and thanks, Ray ###

Firstly I wanted to thank all of you who sent of messages of support for me yesterday. I haven't been well in my head for a few weeks but this week I am getting the help I so desperately need. But isn't life funny, I check my email this morning to see that the booking I made for a 'Fringe' Event at the time of the 2024 Edinburgh International Book Festival has been given the green light. I am so delighted. So in late August 2024 on the 20th, 21st and 22nd I have a three night run in Edinburgh doing a book reading of my second and highly acclaimed book 'The Boy from Neighbourhood 54'. More will appear next week on my socials and website. At that point I have no restrictions placed on me by my current 3 year Restraining Order that would have ended in March 2024. Well, well well. Hope to to see to you both in Edinburgh in August 2024 ###
