17/07/2024

Fantastic performance and win for our Northern Ireland National Team Women to overcome Bosnia and Herzegovina by 2-0 last night with goals from Joely Andrews and Lauren Wade confirming our superiority on the night.

The result means we find ourselves as a seeded club in the Round One, Path Two draw which takes place in Nyon, Switzerland this Friday.

Being seeded means we will have home advantage in the second of a two legged tie against one of the unseeded teams which means we will face one of Turkey, Croatia, Hungary, Slovakia or Azerbaijan with the games to be played between 23 and 29 October.

Victory over those two legs and we move into Round Two of qualifying where we could then face one of the higher seeded teams in Sweden, Norway, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Czechia, Republic of Ireland, Poland or one of the lower unseeded sides in Slovenia, Romania, Belarus, Greece, Albania, Luxembourg, Montenegro or Georgia. These seeded and unseeded teams play one another to decide who makes round two so it is more likely that a seeded team will lie in wait for us should we qualify.

Win that and you're into the finals to be played in Switzerland in July 2025

Simples?

Summing things up, just keep winning girls and if you do then the GAWA will be on its way to the land of cuckoo clocks and delicious choclate 🙂 Hopefully we will see you in Geneva!
