With the winter season in full swing and cattle housed its back to feeding winter rations which was grown over the previous summer period. Silage, Wholecrop, Lucerne and grain all mixed together to a specific ration covering Highs, Mediums and Heifers all housed at Carse Hall Farm Loading the diet feeder and making it look small with one bucket loading 3.7 Tonnes of Silage in one go with the Toe Tip. Been a nice year to catch up with Hamills of Balindreen Farm just outside Coleraine. Milking 300 cows at the home farm and the followers on an outlying farm. Being Massey Men at heart from the tractors in the videos. It was great to follow them across the season from slurry, mowing, raking, harvesting, buckraking and finishing with the feeding.
