The Toffee Hammer crew had a great few days filming a series of dramas for the iWHELD project, a programme to support care homes and their staff in Improving the Wellbeing and Health for People Living with Dementia. Huge thanks to Nightingale Hammerson for letting us film at Nightingale House - and for the brilliant actors who took on some challenging roles. We really enjoy working on dramas for learning, especially for such a good cause. Thanks to - and all the other brilliant folk we couldn’t find to tag!

Leonard has been “helping” set up the new studio over Christmas. We have always wanted a space where we could have idea sessions, meet other creative folk, think away from our screens and embrace all the possibilities of the blank page. Very excited to start 2024. 2023 saw the team expand and our ambitions grow. We have the fun of continuing to work with our creative partners and clients, post-production of a new short film (which we can’t wait to share), and LOTS of ideas. Thank you to everyone we work with - and looking forward to discovering new working relationships in the months to come. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is where began. The two desks were a sign of optimism. I swapped one for a sofa when we had our first dog. Now we are a proper little team with bigger dreams and … thankfully … a much bigger office. It has been a brilliant 10 years. Highs and lows, of course, but the biggest success has to be working with some of the most brilliant and inspiring people: both clients and colleagues. We can’t share much of what we do publicly, but every day we get to work on fun puzzles and find creative solutions. The process is everything

🎬 on our latest - all filming completed, with our last day in - their arcade serving as a double for one in Hastings. Can’t wait to share more. But we have to keep things under wraps for now. We didn’t film in the fabulous Roller Disco (maybe next time!) - but it served us well as an impromptu production office!

The Swinging Sixties! It was so much fun creating 'moving mood boards' for each decade of Queen Elizabeth II's reign. We were commissioned by the education team at The National Archives (UK) to make a Jubilee film for schools.

The complete film tells the story of Elizabeth II’s 70 years as Queen using genuine historical sources from The National Archives and The Royal Collections. It includes music and some original footage from the period. Pupils take a historical journey through the decades, from the 1950s to 2020s. It is designed to encourage pupils to explore the past and ask questions about how the Queen’s role has changed and life in Britain altered over time.

Distil 70 years of history into a 7 minute film to engage children and help them consider how the role of Queen has changed during the course of Elizabeth II's reign.

We are excited to share Toffee Hammer’s new look. We wanted to refresh our brand and showcase our work within a clean and bold website. We chose to create an animation instead of a more traditional showreel, to express our core values and ways of working. It also gave us the opportunity to have some fun.
