The year 2024 is coming to an end...
This year has been a year of war - long, hard, full of loss and uncertainty. But despite all the trials, we kept the most important thing: faith, hope and determination to continue fighting for the future of our country.
Looking back, we, the volunteer organisation ‘Ukrainian Hearts’, sum up the results of another difficult but full of achievements year.
This year, despite our personal difficulties in adapting to a new country, was a time when we were able to benefit our fellow citizens:
- We organised events for the second anniversary of the war, including a commemorative procession to honour all those who suffered in the struggle.
- We helped to purchase necessary equipment for the Kharkiv Children's Hospital.
- We organised a charity fair in order to help the children's ward of the Lviv hospital.
- We organised the collection of funds, clothes and necessities for the affected residents of Kiev after the rocket attack on 6 February .
- We celebrated Ukraine's Independence Day by organising festive events.
- Together with the local Depot cinema organised a Ukrainian evening.
- We prepared a great Christmas Ceilidh in Rigmer and collected gifts for children treated at Chernihiv Hospital.
We sincerely thank everyone who has been with us on this difficult journey.
Your support, help and faith inspired us to move forward even when it seemed that we had no more strength. You are our support and source of inspiration.🙏🏻
The year 2024 was a reminder to us that every day we can do a little more than yesterday. We believe that love and unity are our strongest amulets.
May 2025 be a year of victory!🇺🇦
With love and gratitude,Ukrainian Hearts team ❤️
Ukrainian ‘Shchedryk’ conquers the fashion world and can be heard in the Chanel adverts!
The iconic Ukrainian song ‘Shchedryk’, written by the genius Mykola Leontovych, was performed in the holiday campaign of the world-famous Chanel brand.
Shchedryk’ is a symbol of hope, resilience and holiness, which brings the light of Ukrainian culture far beyond the borders of our country. The melody, created in the native land, today sounds in the most remote corners of the world, reminding of its deep roots.
And yet, despite being recognised worldwide, the city where this immortal masterpiece was born was destroyed by war.
Let the Ukrainian ‘Shchedryk’ sound more alive now than ever - alive for the whole world, constantly reminding us of Ukraine's uniqueness and resilience.

❗️За week Russians have struck our various regions with more than 900 bombs, launched about 30 missiles and almost 500 "shaheds" - Zelensky.
All these strikes would not have been possible if we had sufficient support from the world in obvious things. In range for the sake of security. In truly effective sanctions that would prevent Russia from importing critical components to make drones and missiles.
🇺🇦Реальна War
No matter what happens in this turbulent world, there is one thing that will endure as long as humanity exists. It is those who come to the aid of others and bring hope to those who have lost it. Time always throws new challenges at us, and these days are no exception. Right now, we are gaining experience that we will carry with us in the future, but the most important thing is that we are not alone and are moving in the same direction towards our common goal: a world without war, sorrow, tears, and suffering for our children. Wherever we are, wherever we go, and whatever we do, we know that you and your support are with us. For many years, we have united thousands of people for a common purpose, and we are happy that during this time we are receiving the greatest reward in this world – the smiles of children and the day when they return home healthy. As we write this letter, our cities are again under fire, and once again we hear the sirens of ambulances. And this means that we have work to do again, all of us. Today is International Day of Charity, a day for those who have loved the world so much that they have begun to devote their lives to making it a better place. We have come to love its best part – children who do not belong to us but are going through a difficult journey, and we can make this journey easier and less painful. We thank you for your contribution and for what you are doing for our little heroes, we are grateful for every minute of your life that you have invested in helping us. On behalf of our entire team, we congratulate you on our shared holiday, International Day of Charity. We wish you the strength to withstand this journey with us, and no matter what happens next, we will prevail only together. Thank you, and we promise with our entire team that we will do everything for the children being treated in Ukraine. Happy holiday to the strong. Your EVUM team"

"Russian terrorists again massively attacked Ukraine with missiles. Various cities: Kiev, Dnipro, Kriviy Rig, Slovʼyansk, Kramatorsk. About 40 missiles of various types. Damaged residential buildings, infrastructure and a children's hospital. And the whole world must use all its ruthlessness to finally put an end to the Russian strikes. Killings are what Putin is carrying.

13 December marked the 146th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian composer and public figure Mykola Leontovych. His Christmas carol "Shchedryk" has become a symbol of New Year holidays around the world, most popular in English-language arrangements as Carol of the Bells.
🎄A hundred years ago, this tune was first performed in New York City and has remained the most popular Christmas song in the world ever since. How different groups performed the carol in the video!
