Heavy, slow and noisy: "Meltdown" of "Zone of Alienation" was monophonically recorded entirely live on cassette tape in an ugly building affectionately known as "The Toilet of Alienation" in 2011.

It was engineered by Jesus Agnew and Stratos Pissy using the mobile analog recording rig of FWRL Records.

Analogly remastered in 2015 by Jesus Agnew at Magnetic Fidelity using vacuum tube equipment and 1/4" analog tape.

The cover is 100% analog, hand painted by Sabine Steldinger using acrylic colors and a pinch of volcanic lava dust.

MELTDOWN (2015)
ZONE OF ALIENATION
This album was recorded, mixed and mastered using exclusively analog equipment and magnetic tape. The conversion to DSD was done with high quality equipment directly from the analog mastertapes. No signal processing was done in the digital domain. The DSD version is a direct transfer of the master tape, with every effort taken to ensure that it sounds as close as technically possible to the original analog recording.

Zone of Alienation album "Meltdown" Stoner Rock/Sludge Metal now available on DSD!

FWRL Records adds another DSD Rock release to their catalog this week with Meltdown by Zone of Alienation. The album was recorded in Mono to Analog Tape in 2011 and has now been transferred to DSD 128 and DSD 64. It features 7 tracks of stoner rock.

FWRL tells us "Meltdown is a Rock album that was monophonically recorded entirely live on analog cassette tape. The analog remastering took place in 2015 and was done by Jesus Agnew at Magnetic Fidelity using vacuum tube equipment and 1/4" analog tape. The conversion to DSD was done directly from the analog master tapes and no signal processing was done in the digital domain."

Naxatras generally self release their album in WAV file, CD, cassette and vinyl format. We do the DSD release, a very high definition digital format.

Hard psychedelic rock in DSD 128 and DSD 64 from the Full Wave Rectifier Laboratories (FWRL) label. Recording and Mastering Engineer Jesus Agnew recorded Naxatras, the group's debut full-length album, in Analog and then transferred it to Stereo DSD using the Tascam DA-3000 Analog to DSD converter. This is a DSD Exclusive, never available on SACD.

NativeDSD Release: NAXATRAS LP (2015)

Naxatras is a hard psychedelic rock band from Greece. They play a warm psychedelia full of fat grooves, dreamy melodies, heavy riffs and trippy guitar solos all with the vintage touch of the 70's.

They have been playing since 2012, developing their sound and finally recorded their first full-length album in a 100% analog way (a studio in rural northern Greece) with Jesus Agnew, an engineer experienced in the field of analog and DIY recordings. Only analog equipment was used in the recording-mixing-mastering stages of the album. All the songs in the record were performed entirely live during just one day.

The band does high-energy live performances combining elements of psychedelic/progressive rock, stoner, funk, jazz and eastern music with a trippy video wall to accomplish full stimulation of the senses.

In summer 2015 they went on their first tour playing five European countries.

The Dead Bluesmen 7" Single: 100% analog and handmade

"The Dead Bluesmen" formed in 1932, in the Mississippi Delta area, where they were picking cotton at local plantations. Soon after forming, they murdered their bosses and hit the road. Little is known about them past that point. They are rumoured to have been sentenced to death in the early 50's, only to come back from the dead to haunt the world with their dark, authentic blues sound.
"Shotgun Blues" is an anthem of protest against unfair taxation, homelessness and corruption, ending with murder. It follows the path of the honest poor man through eviction, rejection and his eventual carefully crafted plan of revenge and justice.
"I didn't wake up this morning" sums up the entire tradition of the blues within its short duration. A song about death, it humorously reminds us of our common predicament.
The authentic 50's blues sound has been carefully preserved on the 7" records, which were individually cut on a vintage disk cutting lathe with an original vintage monophonic cutterhead and vacuum tube electronics, entirely in the analog domain, at Magnetic Fidelity. Each record is hand-carved and numbered, with hand-painted covers and manually typeset labels. It is a limited edition of 200.
