Today marks the launch of the crowdfunder for Henceforth Films’ feature film biopic of one of England’s most colourful rogues “English Outlaw: The Story Of Dick Turpin”. This is your chance to be part of a gritty and faithful depiction of this much overlooked and misunderstood man determined to stand tall in a society even more determined to grind the common man into the dust (hasn’t changed much has it?!). CASTING CALL
DAG Productions are seeking to cast the following roles in their forthcoming medieval fantasy TV series “Swords Of Scavelia”, the pilot episode for which can be viewed on Amazon Prime Video via the link below:

Filming is intended to commence in spring of this year and the roles to be cast are as follows:

VAARN (male, playing age 20-25)
Affable and regal young man in training to become a battlefield knight.

FELDERAN (male, playing age 20-25)
Arrogant and conniving young man in training to become a battlefield knight.

HERBYN (male, playing age 25-35)
Sly and devious butler character.

DONANDA (female, playing age 20-25)
Personal aide to the prince and ever willing to satisfy his insatiable lust for the pleasures of the flesh.

SHAZARA (female, playing age 20-25)
Personal aide to the prince and ever willing to satisfy his insatiable lust for the pleasures of the flesh.

WYLWEN (male, playing age 40-45)
Battle weary and broken spirited warrior in the throes of depression.

LORD AULROSE (male, playing age 30-35)
Regal lord whose noble exterior hides a somewhat fragile character.

Regarding payment for the roles, pre-production funding for the project is being sought, however if this is not forthcoming before the start of principal photography, reimbursement for services provided will be on a retrospective basis, if and only if funding is secured covering full production.

We at DAG are setting up a network of fellow artists in all areas of filmmaking, so whenever we announce a recruitment it will go straight to yourself and this will enable us to prioritise any expression of interest you may have in said production. Should you wish to be part of this collective then feel free to respond stating in which artistic capacity you would be interested (actor, director, camera crew, make up etc).

DAG Productions are delighted to announce our new feature film project “English Outlaw: The Story Of Dick Turpin” - a swashbuckling dramatisation of the life and exploits of the dandy highwayman himself. Written as a trilogy of feature films, we will be filming a trailer for the project in December,(exact dates to be confirmed) and are looking to cast the five characters described below. We regret the work will be unpaid and expenses cannot be reimbursed either, but food and drink will be provided and the successful applicants will receive an IMDb credit and the opportunity to reprise the roles for the features themselves:

CAPTAIN BRIDGER

Male

Age 35-40

Height 5’8”-5’11”

Principal aide to a villainous lord of the manor. Stern and tenacious, his devotion to duty masks a devious and scheming character that is deeply embittered by his lackey status.

ROSIE

Female

Age 30-35

Height 5’4”-5’7”

Enigmatic and gregarious working girl. Outwardly shallow, streetwise and confident, she nevertheless betrays an aura of hidden depth, pain and dark secret.

SEAMUS

Male

Age 35-40

Height 5’8”-5’11”

Irish thief and prizefighter. Jovial, optimistic and loyal to friends, but also naive, apathetic and unambitious in life.

HEAPS

Male

Age 40-45

Height 5’8”-5’11”

Grotesque and unscrupulous racketeer / fence. Thickset and slovenly with scant moral values, he regards life as a mere commodity ripe for exploitation, though is cowardly when in the presence of bigger fish.

BOB

Male

Age 35-40

Height 5’8”-5’11”

Devious, overambitious, greedy but ultimately naive gangster who is constantly trying to punch above his weight among the shady circles he moves in. Suspicious nature and can also be sycophantic if need be.

DAG Productions is seeking to cast the forthcoming trailer to its brand new project of a period drama feature and is looking for actors to portray the following roles:

LORD STANLEY
Male
Age 50-55
Height 5’8”-5’11”
Sly, scheming, devious lord of the manor. Bears very little aristocratic grace in thought or deed despite the finery of his appearance and charm of his wit.

CAPTAIN BRIDGER
Male
Age 35-40
Height 5’8”-5’11”
Captain to Lord Stanley’s private army. Stern, tenacious and duty bound to the point of obsession, but in the end his misplaced loyalty to Stanley has rendered him a downtrodden and misanthropic soul.

Shooting is planned for October time in York. We regret this work is unpaid but the trailer is intended to be the precursor to a subsidised feature film that investors have already shown interest in and in which the actors appearing in this trailer will have the opportunity to reprise their roles.
