This annual event invites families and supporters to don their superhero capes and join in a fun-filled day to support children undergoing heart surgeries and their families. The 2024 Superhero Walk is scheduled to take place at the picturesque AMT Headingley Stadium, offering an ideal setting for heroes of all ages to gather. The event will kick off at 10 AM and wrap up by 2 PM, providing participants with four hours packed with activities, entertainment, and community spirit. Participants can look forward to an exciting route that winds through the stadium’s concourse, allowing everyone, from toddlers to grandparents, to walk at their own pace. This past Bank Holiday Monday, Oracle led a fundraising event at the local Supercar Bank Holiday Meet hosted by The Motorist. As the UK’s leading financier of high-end vehicles, Oracle Car Finance has successfully raised over £50,000 for Martin House, which provides free care for children and young people with life-limiting illnesses across Yorkshire. Former England Cricketer Darren Gough Swings into Action at Charity Golf Event. Former Yorkshire County Cricket Club captain and BBC Strictly Come Dancing winner Darren Gough hosted 60 guests for 18 holes of golf at Headingley Golf Club in Leeds during Vertu Motors’ annual charity event. The gathering, which included customers and associates of Vertu, aimed to support the Leeds-based national charity Day One Trauma Support. The charity, founded by Leeds trauma and orthopaedic surgeon Prof Peter Giannoudis, initially aided patients and families at Leeds General Infirmary. It has since expanded its reach to provide emotional, practical, and financial support to individuals across the UK who have suffered catastrophic injuries from incidents like car accidents, falls, stabbings, and sports-related accidents. An auction conducted by Darren and donations made on the day collectively raised over £2,500 for the charity. At the event held on Friday, June 7, auction items featured an England cricket helmet signed by Joe Root and a framed picture autographed by current England Test team captain Ben Stokes.
