STATEMENT FROM AFFORDABLE VAN CONVERSIONS📣📣📣

We have become aware of a video that has been published on a YouTube Channel named ‘Watts Occurring’

The owners of the monetised channel have received correspondence directly as advised by our solicitors.

We have also been advised to release this statement to clear our name with proof to show the video was full of untruths. (Please refer to the time stamped screenshots showing responses to WhatsApp messages and emails within hours of receiving them)

The couple in question were personal friends of ours however the untruths and defamation started after we decided to distance ourselves from the friendship for personal reasons which are irrelevant to this business transaction.

Let’s start from the beginning.
The couple in question was telling us that they couldn’t afford to get the van conversion done and was quite upset that this couldn’t be done to the quality they wanted.

Danny (Managing Director) offered the couple that AVC would convert the vehicle for them FREE OF CHARGE as long as they paid for the parts and materials which after a rough tally up was thought to be £6500 (which turned out to be much more) We spoke to them about the extra materials used and upgrades they had made and only paid half of the outstanding amount as ‘they couldn’t afford it all’ but again me being me let it slide.

This is why we ‘eventually’ took the money in advance which I’m sure you can appreciate as it only just covered the material costs.

In hindsight for us to even offer this was a massive mistake however we are kind people who will walk over hot coals for our friends, which at this point the couple was.

Yes the van was finished and collected on 20th May and we had hoped to have it ready for the 7th May however sometimes timings don’t always go to plan. Also during the build process we was kept waiting for decisions to be made and constant mind changing which massively slowed the team down.

Jumping forward to the collection of the vehicle (20th May 2024) Mrs Watts was absolutely over the moon and I quote ‘better than I could ever imagine’ (please see her reaction on our YouTube channel) she spent a lot of time at our unit on collection day and had a very good look around the van and again was very happy indeed.

We then heard nothing from the couple until 18th June 2024 (in the video it states she knew about a problem within 2 hours of collecting the vehicle) when we had a message from Mr Watts (please see screenshots) about a problem with the fridge and also the diesel heater which we replied within hours of receiving the message asking them to bring us the vehicle at their earliest convenience. And arranged from the fridge to be collected from our supplier to diagnose the problem.

48hours after we was made aware of social media posts showing they had taken the vehicle to another firm which was 35minutes away from us.

Now unfortunately we are all human and do make mistakes from time to time and we missed a washer out on the fitment of the diesel heater and a self tapping screw failed however we didn’t get given the opportunity to put this right even after asking them to return the van at their earliest convenience.

On the 9th of August 2024 we received an email from the lady listing snags on the van (maximum 1 days work tops if they are all genuine issues) demanding £9350.

Again this was replied to within a few hours asking for them to bring the van to us to look at and put any snags right. (Please see screenshots)

This is just the tip of the iceberg of the untruths stated in their video which they are profiting from on their monetised YouTube channel however we thought people needed to know the truth with proof. (All proof has/will be provided)

Some of the comments on the video are disgraceful and all from people who don’t have any of the facts. If people knew the hurt their words cause both personally and towards the business then I’m sure you would think twice about posting before knowing the facts.

We have decided to do this as a post and not a video as we do not want to profit or gain traction from this situation, we just want people to know the truth.
