This is the kind of thing we studio people get up to during drum soundchecks!!! (Plan B was a paddling pool). We have been recording some epic new songs with John Parkes, Simon Smith and Alaric Lewis. Day 3 tomorrow. Quite a result!!!

A snippet from The Ancient Infinity Orchestra forming part of an upcoming Leeds Jazz album on VINYL. Nice to work with musicians who do not conform to the usual verse chorus middle 8 formula. Refreshing!!!

A first for Soundworks - a train set with a truck cam. Naturally it was overdubbed!!! A great three days with John, Alric and Simon recording tracks for an album. Fantastic playing, and some very individual sounding drums. A complete blast all round!!

Well.....that was a week that we could well do with forgetting (but never will!!) It has been extremely emotional watching 20 years of studio life evaporate in a blink. We have been given huge support from a cast of many. Thanks go out to Rob and Laura Stroud for their support and coffees!! Rupert Stroud for fearless pressure-washing duties, Mike Heaton, John Shepard, Peanut Kaiser, Dave Creffield, Colin Whittaker, Ollie Norman, Jill Norman, Andy Norman, Freya, Lucy and all volunteers from Kirkstall Flood Cleanup Group who have all been phenomenal. We were blown away completely by the arrival from Tel Aviv of Voni Glick, Gilad Levi, Yuval Statman and Mickey Noam-Alan from ISRAaid. Lastly thanks to dear brother and sister Ed Jackson and Alice Jackson for unstinting help and support, Chrissie Jackson and Gina Keith for outstanding contributions to world cuisine!!!

Brief update. We are overwhelmed by all the kind thoughts and offers of help that have come through thus far. The intrepid Ollie Norman took these photos yesterday. We shall not be posting any more of these images - this is quite enough. More updates to follow as soon as we know when we are allowed to begin the clean-up. Love, Peace and Music x
