Meet the talented karate squad from Swarcliffe, who have just picked up an impressive four World Champion titles.

Shelly Collinson, Nicholas Rotaru and Logan Green, from Chisana Senshi Karate Club, were up against tough competition - but managed to bag top prizes.

Chief instructor Shelly, who secured a double World Championship title in kumite, took a squad of seven children to compete in the 15th WKC World Championships, which were held in Sheffield.

The children, aged between seven and 11, all have a range of additional needs, including Autism and ADHD.

Nine-year-old Nicholas Rotaru picked up a double World Champion title in kata and kumite, while seven-year-old Logan Green secured himself a World Champion title in kumite.

The club also walked away with four silver medals and five bronze medals in their first ever competition on this scale.

Shelly said: "I am unbelievably proud of each and everyone of the students who competed. It takes a lot of courage to walk out onto the tatamis but they make it look so easy.

"It has been an honour to coach these students at the World Championships and I'm looking forward to continuing this, see them progress further and continue competing."

Chisana Senshi Karate Club is currently looking for club sponsorship to help aid the progression of the students.
