Women who are involved in music at all levels have helped to change the whole structure of the music industry at many points across history. After seeing the events that have been happening over the last week at the Vigils for Sarah Everard and seeing some of the responses to this both online and by certain political leaders, it seems that many people seem to have forgotten just how influential women are, so Allsorts is here to remind you!! 💪

This weeks show theme will be a special centred around the women who have worked to revolutionise the music industry at all levels - not just singer/songwriters/front-women but women who are producers, instrumentalists, sound engineers, DJ’s etc - and once again I am looking for recommendations from you guys about the incredible women you would like to see celebrated on the show this week 🗣🎉

So please please don’t be afraid to get in touch and drop me a DM so that together we can create an amazing show, that will keep people reminded that women can not, have not and will not ever be silenced ❤️

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 February is LGBTQ+ History Month 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

When I asked Jake Procter how he thought we could interpret this for Allsorts, this is the illustration that his amazing mind came up with (because we do love ourselves some Lil Nas X 😂)

To celebrate, LSR will be putting together loads of shows and specials this month so keep an eye out for these, which I shall be sharing to the page for you all to check out!

Allsorts will also be celebrating on every show this month by beginning and ending each show with a “spotlight” on different LGBTQ+ musical artists that have been specifically influential on LGBTQ+ History and it’s movements over time🍬✨

Whilst this of course will never by any means be enough in order for us to cover just how many phenomenal people have been such great LGBTQ+ influences across history, it remains so important that we celebrate these histories and stories in any way possible, especially after the recent tragic loss of producer/songwriter/DJ/singer Sophie Xeon, who’s influence changed the face of electronic/experimental pop as we know it today.

I want to know which LGBTQ+ icons and legends you guys want me to play on the show, as well as the tracks that you guys want playing on the show this week as well, so let me know either by leaving a comment or dropping me a message!!

I would just like to take this time to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has been involved with the show over the past few months, wether that’s my tuning in or sending me the songs you love, you have all helped make something positive of this year (and providing me with a lot of fun whilst doing it!)😊😊❤️✨🎉
