Happy Earth Day! Each year on April 22, billions of people around the globe celebrate Mother Earth, and it’s an opportunity to raise awareness and advocate for change around the issues most impacting our planet — and to celebrate its beauty .
Our beautiful part of the world is rich in an amazing and diverse natural environment and we are lucky enough to not only to be able to include countryside, woodland and moor in our landscapes, but also to be surrounded by ocean. With all the wildlife and diversity within these natural environments on our doorstep, it’s all the more important to get involved and play our part for the sake of our beautiful planet and the generations to come.
Small acts can add up and make a difference in what can often feel like a mammoth task - if we all start with the little things it really can have impact. If you want to do your bit and help, here are a few changes you can implement and give a go -
* Clean up litter in your local park or neighbourhood, or take part in a local beach clean
* Reduce plastic consumption
* Plant a tree
* Use wildflowers and native plants
* Reduce, Reuse, Recycle in the garden - use a water-butt!
* Stop the use of pesticides and chemicals in the garden
* Conserve water
* Involve kids and teach our next generation
* Sustainable fashion
* Support our pollinators

Launceston Town Plan Group Safer Greener Streets Consultation Post
Launceston Town Plan Group Safer Greener Streets Consultation Post:
Here is a little video from Ellie about the Launceston Town Plan Group’s consultation and survey which is NOW LIVE!
Have a listen to the video before you click on the survey.
She makes some important points….and if you don't listen, you might find yourself commenting on something that is explained in the video.
Ellie makes a few points, though the most important is that the proposed strategies are those of McGregor Coxall who were employed to carry out a piece of work, they do not necessarily indicate the views and opinions of the Town Plan Group or the volunteers in it.
And remember it is ok to like bits, hate bits, not like bits and love bits of the survey… but if you only voice the parts you don't like, or don’t want, nothing will change.

Well Lanson it was a truly magic event yet again!
What a wonderful effort made by all who planned it, stayed open for late night shopping, all those involved in this evening and the community for turning up in their thousands.
In case you didn't manage it, here are some snippets from the evening.
Happy December everyone!
The Forest For Launceston team wanted us to share this amazing footage of our new community woodland!
With a huge thank you to Marcus at Airplan.co.uk for the support 🙂
They have already been able to see the tracks and pathways both from the ground and air that visitors to the woodland are creating!
Morning Lanson!
A little video message from Ellie. Seems our internet connection is still down…though we are around if you need us!
We are trying to work on a temporary solution so we can get back to the office, though in the meantime we are all around just working from various locations across the town!

A wonderful moment shared with us as local student Alex Ilsley shakes the hand of His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales.
Alex told Launceston Life: “I feel so privileged to have experienced this in my home town. It is the proudest moment of my life.”
It’s so lovely that people of all ages have been able to make special memories in our little town today 💙
If you missed it - Here is our Facebook live of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall visiting Launceston on Tuesday 19th of July 2022! Well done Launceston! What a lovely day (despite the rain and thunder) 🌧
