Halifax Show
We have had a lovely time at Halifax show today with Jade coming 3rd in the inhand gelding class with Samson. Thanks to the Dunnett family for their hospitality, in allowing us to stay the night, along with a steak tea 😋 It was great to catch up with Belinda from the Suffolk horse society and Harry Zinman. Congratulations to all competitors today!

New Rug Day….
August has begun and this is the month Samson’s irritability really starts 😩 The sun is out after a shower through the night making it an environment for all the midges and flies to thrive. When an insect bites Samson he has an allergic reaction to the protein in the saliva of biting insects. This causes the immune system to attack its own cells and leads to an extreme reaction.
It is more important than ever now Samson has fresh clean rugs on to keep his skin fresh and irritation free.
Yesterday Samson managed to annihilate his Lilac Ruggles rug after being bitten on his bum resulting in a missing patch of tail hair. On top of an irritated Samson already we are now stopping our feet as soon as the slightest bug lands or doesn’t land resulting in loose shoes 🙈 Lets hope and pray for no more Samson destruction 🙏

Recently on different social media creator platforms there seems to be a lot of keyboard warriors, TikTok trainers and insta jerks with unkind remarks & comments which are getting personal and are down right rude.
Always treat others how you would want to be treated yourself.

Great Eccleston Show 2024
We have had an amazing weekend! Thank you to everyone for inviting us and all the hard that goes on behind the scenes!

On Saturday Samson & I met lots of lovely friends and followers as well as having a fantastic result in the inhand class with Oscar winning the class 🏆

Sunday we were invited to join a panel of social media stars and discuss our social media platforms followed by stewarding the YouTubers challenge.

Great Eccleston Show 2024

A long day but a successful day!
We braided both horses at home followed by a successful loading on to the trailer 🥳 Oscar was very well behaved on arrival, then the fun began going to the ring and entering, this was Oscar’s first time so there was lots to look and listen to but we survived!!

Thank you to Becky for riding Samson this week while I’ve been busy working. Thank you to for driving and showing Samson in hand along with for being a top groom even when she was ill. Also thank you to the Dunnett family .dunnett for helping out while a quick change over for the ridden class!

Tomorrow we’re heading to so it was bath night for Samson!
We will be in the main ring tomorrow around 1pm for the in hand class followed by the ridden heavy horse class around 2pm.

Show Prep Motivation!

Next Saturday we will be attending the Great Eccleston Show, which requires a lot of preparation this year!
You ask why….Not only will Samson be attending but so will Oscar the Percheron! This will be Oscar’s first show and first time travelling since arriving to us.
In preparation this has taken time with practice loading, braiding, handling and desensitising to new things.
If you would like to see Samson & Oscar they will be in the main ring around 1pm.

Today we went to Raw Foot Farm Ride with Samson’s lady friends Tilly & Blossom. We may have got wet but that didn’t stop our fun popping logs and making the most of the cantertunites!! We chose the long route where we saw some fantastic views of Haweswater.

Yesterday we went on a lovely ride around the Mary Townley Loop. The ride consisted of limestone & grass tracks along with quiet country lanes with some very friendly walkers & cyclists who kindly opened & shut gates if they saw us. We took in some amazing views of the three peaks and Malham cove on our ride and enjoying our picnic!
15 miles bossed with some lovely cantertunites!
