Terry and his lovely dobro on today's session. 😃😃

Terry Hopkinson. I've known Terry since I was 18 when he was the bass player with Hull's legendary metal band, 'Ethel The Frog'.

He left the music industry in the early 80s to settle down with a normal job. Though, 'normal' for Terry was becoming professor of archeology lecturing at Cambridge!

He's now gone full circle and it's been an honour to have him contribute such sublime musicianship on the dobro. He's just 'got it'!!

I can't wait for this song to go public.

Bass player wanted!

It's with a heavy heart that we must announce our bass-playing legend, Brian Gadie has decided to call it a day and so we're looking for someone to fill the void.

The Jackdaws are an established Hull band, playing 60s & 70s well-known rock, soul and blues songs with a couple of 50s & 80s numbers included.

Ideally, we're looking for an experienced and confident bass player with the ability to link with our guitarist and drummer whilst putting their own individual stamp on our setlist.

The age or gender of the person is not important but they must have their own equipment, transport and the ability to play most weekends. All of the current line-up juggle working full-time and playing weekends so consideration is given to other commitments.

Preferably, the person will live in the E.Yorks/N Lincs area and be able to provide some backing vocals but this isn't essential.

A willingness to take on some duties away from the stage (delivering posters, booking gigs/practices) will also be appreciated.

Time and support can be given to the right person in order to learn our setlist but we'd like to have someone in place in the next 6-8 weeks if possible.

Please message our page for further info and to set up a date to run through some songs and see how everyone feels.

Thanks for reading!

Here at last... we are delighted to announce the new live 2022 double CD - Back in These Arms.
Available from all good retailers, http://mostlyautumnrecords.com/mostlyautumnrecords/3/index3.html and at concerts.
This stunning double live album from Mostly Autumn is the culmination and release of all the pent-up emotion and frustration that gathered after two and a half years of inactivity due to the pandemic. The concert is a mark of some kind of normality returning, and the cast of songs spans 27 years of the band. The magic and intensity is captured deeply in this show and is highly infectious.
