This is one of our Shirebrook SNT officers in action breaking in to the property at Ridgeway, where the cannabis grow was found.
βCannabis grows pose a real danger to our communities β with electricity often illegally bypassed that have seen lead to fires where people have been seriously hurt.
βWe often see comments about how cannabis grows are not a serious issue but the danger posed by these grows is very real β and poses a huge risk to our communities.
βWe will continue to act on all information that is passed to us and I would urge anyone who is concerned about drug production or dealing in their area to contact us in confidence.β
Spotting the signs of a potential cannabis grow:
β’ Strong, sickly smells
β’ Windows constantly covered
β’ Excessive security
β’ High levels of condensation
β’ Lots of visitors - often at unsociable hours
β’ Lack of snow frost/snow on roofs in times of cold weather
β’ Bright lights on in the house during the day and night
β’ Constant buzz of a ventilation system
