Spring is the perfect season for hiking or walking, with more sunny days, a gentle breeze and lots of beautiful wildflowers. It’s time to put your walking boots on and explore some of these local walks;

🚶 Bigbury-on-Sea - 4 miles

This walk has a great mix of coast, woodland and countryside, perfect for spotting wildflowers and wildlife.
- Park at Bigbury-on-Sea car park
- Follow footpath signs northeast
- Pass Challaborough, Toby’s Point, and Ayrmer Cove
- Cross the river, head inland to Ringmore
Pass Manor Farm, reach Journey’s End Inn
- Continue to the village church, turn right at the crossroads
- Follow the footpath, cross two valleys
- Turn right at the second valley's top, follow the fence to the car park

🚶The Teign Gorge - 5 miles

This walk follows the stunning River Teign and Teign Gorge up to Fingle Bridge and Castle Drogo.
- Start at Dogmarsh Bridge
- Park on grass verge or nearby pub car park
- Follow path east along River Teign
- Reach Fingle Bridge, a 17th-century stone arch bridge
- Loop north on footpath, passing landmarks
- Return via footpath to Dogmarsh Bridge

🚶 Start Point - 6 miles

On a beautiful spring day, this coastal walk along Start Bay will give you epic views of the 15-mile stretch of coastline. This walk involves walking back the same way you came.
- Start at Start Point car park
- Walk 1.3 miles to Start Point Lighthouse
- Enjoy dramatic coastline views
- For longer walk, continue to Hallsands then Beesands
- Explore Beesands village, beach, and pub
- Return to car park the same way
