70 years ago on this day in 1954, 'The Million Pound Note' was released starring acclaimed Hollywood actor Gregory Peck. the actor would go on to say the script was 'a good comedy opportunity' and that he 'was given probably the most elegant wardrobe he had ever worn in film'. Peck returned to both Pinewood and Shepperton in later years for 'The Guns Of Navarone' (1961), 'Arabesque' (1966), 'The Omen' (1976), and 'The Boys From Brazil' (1979).
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Glynis Johns, best known for her role as Mrs Banks in Mary Poppins. We welcomed Glynis to our Studios for 11 films, including An Ideal Husband and Appointment With Venus. Our thoughts are with her loved ones.

55 years ago today the fantasmagorical musical film 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' opened in UK cinemas. Heatherden Hall was used as Truly Scrumptious’ house and the interior of the candy factory was shot on A Stage. The performance of 'Toot Sweets' took three weeks to film and involved 38 dancers, 40 singers, 85 musicians and 100 dogs.
Did you know Superman learnt to fly at Pinewood. 45 years ago Christopher Reeve soared into UK cinemas as 'Superman'. The film and across eight stages, the Back Lot and Paddock Lot. Set pieces included the flying unit based on A Stage, The Daily Planet Offices on E Stage and Lex Luthors lair on D Stage. The Fortress of Solitude was constructed at Shepperton Studios and on Pinewood’s 007 Stage.

'Loki Season 2' brought glorious purpose to the Studios when production on six stages where interiors for the TVA were filmed. The North Lot housed the Chicago World Fair set and Alcatraz Island set. All six episodes and 'Assembled: The Making of Loki Season 2' are now available to watch on Disney+

He’s back in town! Santa Claus: The Movie returns to cinemas in 4K. Originally in 1985 where Santa's workshop was built on the 007 Stage. The film is screening at Pinewood Cinema on 3 December (🎟️ https://bit.ly/3R0Pisr) and is also available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray for the first time.
We had an incredible two days for Festival 2023. We welcomed over 4,000 visitors to our Studios in Buckinghamshire from all over the UK to learn more about careers in our fantastic industry. A huge thank you to everyone who visited us, exhibited in our spaces, hosted a talk, guided a tour, ran a workshop, shared their knowledge and inspired young minds.

Celebrating 60 years of time and space, 'Dr. Who and the Daleks' and starred Peter Cushing as the extra-terrestrial Time Lord. Principal photography commenced at Shepperton Studios in April 1965 and took six weeks. The first Doctor Who production to be screened in colour. The sets included the Dalek City interiors on A Stage & the petrified forest of Skaro on H Stage.
