Most parts cloudy through Christmas Day, once any early mist or fog patches ease away. Staying dry and mild, with light winds. Perhaps the odd brighter spell developing later in the day, most likely in the west. Maximum temperature 12°C.

Tonight

Little change is expected for many overnight, with mostly cloudy skies persisting. Turning cooler where any cloud breaks develop and persist, with the odd patch of fog possible. Minimum temperature 5°C.

Thursday

A continuation of the recent cloudy and mild weather is forecast Boxing Day. Although perhaps a greater chance of early morning fog patches, and for more persistent overcast skies later. Maximum temperature 10°C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday

Cloudy Friday with light winds, patchy fog, and some rain or drizzle. Similar start Saturday, before a band of rain clears east later. Cooler, sunnier but breezier weather following Sunday.

Becoming generally cloudy as a little light rain and drizzle spread eastwards during the evening. Gradually becoming milder, with frost not expected. Minimum temperature 4°C.

Tuesday

Mild but on the cloudy side, with many areas staying dry, although the odd spot of rain remains possible. Some limited brighter spells more likely in the afternoon. Maximum temperature 13°C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday

Predominantly settled, mild and cloudy conditions are expected for the Christmas period, with winds gradually easing. Limited overnight frosts.

Any showers easing and becoming confined to the coast. Winds slowly ease overnight. Becoming largely dry with clear spells, allowing for a touch of frost in sheltered spots by dawn. Minimum temperature 1°C.

Monday

A largely dry, bright and chilly day for many. Perhaps a few coastal showers likely early on. Turning increasingly cloudy with outbreaks of rain arriving by evening. Turning milder overnight. Maximum temperature 6°C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday

Christmas Eve will be milder with some patchy drizzle possible. Christmas Day and Boxing Day will probably be largely dry and rather cloudy, but noticeably milder. Lighter winds.
