Lone Frequencies is all about delving into that DIY, unsigned & signed, independent music scene. And Jacob approved!

The show is genreless because the hosts, Jacob and James, do not believe in limitations, which is why Lone Frequencies is a global show. Once upon a time, Jacob and James spent some time at a local internet radio station and while at this place, James suggested to Jacob the idea of creating a global radio show that caters to unsigned and independent music. A lot of show titles were thrown around a

nd eventually, after a trip to the toilet, James returned (who went alone that is) with the name Lone Frequencies. Not to be mistaken with Lawn or Launch Frequencies, as Siri seems to think. The show ethos would be simple and can be summed up with three words: Anyone - Anywhere - Anything. because it is all just sounds we will welcome everyone into our Gazebo of sound - friendship - art - peace and love. The show would be genreless and we would be very Pro Bio. On the 4th of february, 2017 the first episode launched and since then it's been a highly enjoyable music journey. On the April 26th, 2017, with the previous station exiled from existance, Jacob and James decided to go independent and continue on with the show, which was now to be recorded at The Cabin. A secret location known only to J&J (as people like to say).

The HiVE episodes, which air exclusively on Mad Wasp Radio (every other week) have become a whole thing onto themselves. The point of these kinds of episodes is to showcase the music with as little interruption from us (Jacob & James) as possible. 2025 is upon us and it will be interesting to see what this year brings us. we want to thank everyone who has been part of our podcasting / radio show journey. this has been a blast and it is always inspiring to hear what you guys have to say. hopefully this year we can do a little more and bring a little more 🤠👽 THANKS FOR LISTENING!

Rumours of their respective origin stories include - but are not limited to - raised by wolves, raised by sand people, fell to earth, secret lovechild of Neil Morrissey, found on a doorstep, lived with Buddhists up a mountain, married to the old one from Birds of a Feather, worked for the CIA, worked as a Redcoat at Butlins, aided in the capture of the Yorkshire Ripper, once lived on a roundabout for 2 months, etc. Jacob & James went from being music-loving colleagues to firm friends after the conception and launch of Lone Frequencies. The rest, as literally nobody says, is history.”
