On New Years Day from 4pm on Erewash Sound, I'll be presenting 2024 tracks from well-known artists including J-Lo, Bananarama, Rick Astley, Pet Shop Boys, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Kylie, Madness, Haircut 100, The Darkness and even Billy J. Kramer plus many more in the Heritage Now review.

All were played at 11:30am on a Lazy Sunday throughout the year. I hope you can join me in whole or part to start 2025.

🎶 It is Boxing Day, but I'm still on air on Erewash Sound but with a Christmas edition of The Great Erewash Music Show (GEMS) from 7pm with nothing but festive tracks from artists from in and around the Erewash area on FM and on line.

Budding broadcasters aged nine to 11 can win up to £1,000 for their Erewash primary schools – by seizing the chance to become local radio stars.

A contest launched by Erewash Sound for pupils in years five and six is inviting teachers to get youngsters to submit ideas for their own show talking about a hot topic for kids . . . food.

The ten best proposals will get a “Studio in a Box” visit from the station’s experts so a full 15-minute show can be made.

Listeners across the borough will vote for their favourite when the 10 shows are broadcast in the New Year. Top prize is £1,000 – while schools can also win £500 for Best Idea and £500 for Best Performance.
